Ive given our buyers and their solicitors until 2:15pm otherwise it’s not happening. Doubt they will be bothered.
If you haven't exchanged by that time will you no longer be buying the house? would you be looking elsewhere or staying where you are?
I honestly don’t know. The excitement of moving has vanished. So I don’t even think I want to move anymore. But I love the house we are buying and it’s next to my sons school.

So in a rock and a hard place at the moment.
Fingers crossed for you to exchange either today or tomorrow. I was stressing and writing post griefing (<<That is a Yorkshire term for talking crap i guess lol) the EA and the SOLS then 10 minutes later I had the exchange call. It will all happen and you will have a massive weight lifted ! Have you spoken about any potential completion dates ?
We are supposed to be completing tomorrow. But we ain’t now I’ve said I’m seriously considering pulling out all together.
Why are you not completing if you've exchanged?

    That could be very expensive
Keep up penners I’ve had a rubbish week trying to exchange everyday. They now want to exchange and complete today.

It’s risky and we are going to wait for confirmation at 9am or just after what the hell is going on today. Funds for both us and our buyer have been released so I’m sure the solicitor doesn’t want to fanny about sending it back.

I will either be in a heap on the floor from exhaustion of actually moving or I’ll be in a heap on the floor cos it’s all gone Pete Tong.

I never recommend exchange and completion on same day when you’ve had this many issues but we are going to see what happens.

    God help me.

    I will update tonight.

Crossing everything that all goes well for you today.

I've begged my solicitor to try and sort exchange today but it's looking like we'll be having same day exchange and completion on Monday, something I expressly stated I didn't want to do as I wanted a week between.

I have found it so frustrating how blasé my solicitor was about exchanging, but for me it meant things were 100% going forward no turning back!

Good luck to everyone waiting to exchange and/or complete.
Our last one was exchange and complete on the same day which went smoothly as we were going from rented to new build.
In-laws who were buying at the same time on the other hand...
They were buying a property in the UK and part of the funds came from a loan repaid by another daughter (complex enough).
They were living in Cyprus and the daughter involved Australia. Their solicitor left the firm midway through the purchase and the file got missed for about a month.
The new solicitor then wasn't happy and wanted certified ID documents and uptodate hardcopy proof of where funds daughter was paying had come from, these were sent tracked but due to covid spent 2 weeks waiting to leave Australia.
My wife got dragged in as despite not having any involvement in the purchase was the only one based in UK. She got a snotty phone call from the estate agent telling her 'she' needed to transfer the 'loan payment' balance now to stop the sale collapsing. When my wife explained she needed to money for our purchase, the response was to forget ours and get the money across. He was put in his place!
Then the seller had issues as they hadn't done something they needed to.
From a sale that should have completed a month before ours, it completed a month after.
I'm sure it will all come good inthe end for you all.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.
  • Eeeeek settlement day (completion) today! I'm awaiting the calls.... excited
