I’m still waiting to get exchanged. Authority all done from my side. Called estate, estate called seller solicitor. Case handler said it will definitely get exchanged today, apparently it’s on the list for today. So back to panicking mode 😪0

Ugh, so typical. We asked for the contract to be amended and the amendment returned to us was different than we requested. So back it goes again...0

UnderOffer said:Laurelii said:I am getting extremely impatient now, we have agreed on the completion date of 18/2, so has our sellers and apparently the sellers seller has agreed also as when I contacted our seller she said her solicitor emailed them to say 'looks like the 18th is agreed' but I haven't heard anything from our solicitors in regards to the exchange date. Is it worth asking the EA if they know anything or will they not have any information about the sellers seller? or should I just wait to hear from the solicitors ?0

Wow lot's of buzz today - I'm jealous of everyone who has been able to exchange!!
Solicitor is going to be sending me the contract pack for our purchase today.. not sure when it will be!
PIF is STILL outstanding from the sellers. It's getting to the point where I'm going to partial lose my sh**. I don't understand how such a simple form is still outstanding.
Cheekily looking through bigger pieces of furniture - do we chance fate and order the sofa and dining table for the week after planned completion or are we too optimistic lolFinally completed on our new home

Made a call to my solicitor (got sick of them ignoring my emails, and I wasn't pestering them, I was leaving at least 3 days between following them up), asked them what the delay was and reminded them that they had promised to complete certain things by last Wednesday, which I was still to hear about. Got an email about half an hour later, exchange/complete next week, Such a relief, finally!“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I failed to exchange today. My vendor’s solicitor could not contact to onward chain’s solicitor. My solicitor said they will try to do it again tomorrow. We have been trying to exchange 2 times this week. I really do not understand how solicitors working? Why everyone know they will have to do exchange today and then they disappeared last minute! So so sad !0

MickeyFTB said:The contract pack was finally sent to my solicitor yesterday but she couldn’t open one for the attachments so I got the seller to send it to me and sent it to her directly to hopefully save some time. Had the mortgage deed form and questionnaire to sign today so will deliver that directly to the solicitors office tomorrow to save time on post.Hoping to have contract pack and questions done by end of week as my solicitor is pretty good with getting things rolling.1

I have a completion date of 7th February which everyone has agreed including Bank! Still haven’t exchanged - one search still outstanding which is not going to make any difference but all the other pieces of the jigsaw appear to be in place now. 🤞🤞

This might be a really silly question but not sure what to expect on completion day. Who calls and confirms we can pick up the keys? Is it my solicitor or is it the estate agent?0
