    @RS2OOO @Moneybear congratulations.

    It’s so funny how Friday seems so close to me as it’s like another week gone and not much progression but now it’s seems so far away for you now you are ready to move. I can’t wait for that feeling lol.

    Enjoy the move :)

  • Congratulations all that have exchanged and completed! First time poster here ! We are very close to the end now.. finally! We are FTB. Buying a vacant property, we had an update yesterday from our solicitors to say all enquiries are satisfied and that they will be producing a contract report shortly. So just a question how long did this take for you to receive? Thanks! 😊
  • Emailed our estate agent and sellers estate agent on Monday morning.
    Not heard anything back yet.
    Our solicitor is waiting on replies to enquires on our onward purchase.

    Rang our estate agent who was busy - waiting for them to call back!

    I know its not just us they have to deal with but i just wish everyone else chased things up a little.
    Really want to move next month so we can be in before baby arrives in March!
    If we dont move next month then i've said everyone will need to wait until April - cant risk going into labour on completion day!
    Trying very hard to not stress about it!

    How often does everyone check in with/ chase estate agents and solicitors?

    I am getting extremely impatient now, we have agreed on the completion date of 18/2, so has our sellers and apparently the sellers seller has agreed also as when I contacted our seller she said her solicitor emailed them to say 'looks like the 18th is agreed' but I haven't heard anything from our solicitors in regards to the exchange date. Is it worth asking the EA if they know anything or will they not have any information about the sellers seller? or should I just wait to hear from the solicitors ?

    Well we are still attempting to exchange. First we thought early December, then late December, then early Jan, then last week, now next week...

    Our vendors have had serious problems with their solicitors, it sounds like they've just been terrible and impossible to get doing anything. Ours have been fine throughout, not exceptional but generally expedient. Funnily enough our current solicitor used to work for our vendor's solicitor up until just last summer so I wonder what happened there lol, I looked her up and she only stayed there 6 months. I wonder if they were too slow and crap for her!

    So the "errors" made on their report are still outstanding and though a few of them have been fixed up, there are still some outstanding. Sales progressor says should take 2 days to sort them out. So let's hope Monday it'll be done and we can exchange next week?!

    My vendor has promised to reduce their initial 4 weeks between E&C down to 3 weeks which makes me feel slightly better.

    Yes, you call your estate to chase it up. I mostly got more information from estate first than solicitor.

    You may find you don’t exchange until a week before, so 11 Feb? As long as everyone is working to same date of 18 Feb to complete then should go as planned.
