Laurelii said:So completion is Feb 18th, do i start changing address on things now e.g, bank, driving liscence, phone bill. Should I start changing now or wait till ive moved ?I know you said you got a call to ask for exchange and transfer of funds, your solicitor confirmed receipt of funds, did they also confirm the exchange too on the second call? It’s good you have several weeks before completion, allows you to sort out all of this type of stuff at a slower pace.0

My mortgage broker has been an absolute diamond and spoken to the lender who has agreed to extend for 90 days as they can see we’ve been royally messed around (it’s now 4 months since we first agreed to exchange)
Now I’m hoping we’ll exchange and complete well before that but it’s relieved a lot of stress that our offer was due to expire tomorrow.Didn’t want to walk away as we have a great house we still want to purchase but also didn’t want to start again with the mortgage so definitely worth asking your broker/lender to agree if you’re in the same situation.2 -

Solicitor is going to be sending me the contract pack for our purchase today.. not sure when it will be!
PIF is STILL outstanding from the sellers. It's getting to the point where I'm going to partial lose my sh**. I don't understand how such a simple form is still outstanding.
Cheekily looking through bigger pieces of furniture - do we chance fate and order the sofa and dining table for the week after planned completion or are we too optimistic lol
Practising patience is so hard!!!Finally completed on our new home

Wow.
Thank you everyone for reading and putting up with my stress!
Don't be silly, of course we didn't.
Removals were brilliant, 2 lorries arrived an hour early before we had finished packing so they helped us out which just means we have no clue where anything is, no big deal.
2x 7.5 tonne lorries fully loaded and gone by 11am (the 3.5 tonne loaded up yesterday).
Confirmation we had completed at 11:30 just as we arrived at new house, perfect.
Our buyers were waiting at the estate agents so they were in immediately.
Then the problems - vendors solicitor having problems with their bank account and couldn't verify they'd recieved payment so wouldn't release keys.
Still no news at 13:30 so I'm chasing my solicitor who's chasing vendors solicitor who have closed for lunch.
At 15:00 the funds still not showing. My Solicitor decides to email vendors solicitor proof the payment has been sent and fortunately they agree to release keys via estate agent.
EA is 40 minutes drive away but fortunately the owner lives nearby and was working from home with a key to the property and he agreed to bring it to us.
18:00 and removals are fully unloaded, albeit with a £120 key waiting charge - it should have been £420 but the guys said they were happy not to tell their boss about the delay if I was happy to give them a "drink". Works for me!
19:00 I finally manage to reset the boiler (in the loft) and get heat into a house that's been empty for 4 months.
That's it, I'm done, good night and good luck to all of you no matter where you are in the process.
