So completion is Feb 18th, do i start changing address on things now e.g, bank, driving liscence, phone bill. Should I start changing now or wait till ive moved ?
Wait until you’ve moved, but you can start the postal redirect process to commence from 18 Feb. You arranged insurance too on new property?
I know you said you got a call to ask for exchange and transfer of funds, your solicitor confirmed receipt of funds, did they also confirm the exchange too on the second call? It’s good you have several weeks before completion, allows you to sort out all of this type of stuff at a slower pace.
  • All contract issues sorted! I've proposed a completion date and am waiting to hear from the rest of the chain.

Arranged all insurance that's sorted and yes they gave me a call later in the day to say everyone in the chain has all successfully exchanged. EEEK :)
  • My mortgage broker has been an absolute diamond and spoken to the lender who has agreed to extend for 90 days as they can see we’ve been royally messed around (it’s now 4 months since we first agreed to exchange)

Now I’m hoping we’ll exchange and complete well before that but it’s relieved a lot of stress that our offer was due to expire tomorrow.

Didn’t want to walk away as we have a great house we still want to purchase but also didn’t want to start again with the mortgage so definitely worth asking your broker/lender to agree if you’re in the same situation.
  • Wow lot's of buzz today - I'm jealous of everyone who has been able to exchange!!

Solicitor is going to be sending me the contract pack for our purchase today.. not sure when it will be!

PIF is STILL outstanding from the sellers. It's getting to the point where I'm going to partial lose my sh**. I don't understand how such a simple form is still outstanding.

Cheekily looking through bigger pieces of furniture - do we chance fate and order the sofa and dining table for the week after planned completion or are we too optimistic lol
Had news this morning that our mortgage offer has a special condition no one was aware of and the lender now needs to issue a new one...

    Practising patience is so hard!!!
Finally completed on our new home

  • Lots of good news on this thread which is nice to see. We have not exchanged yet but reasonably confident that it will be Monday and completion date has been agreed at 7 February!!
  • Similar here! Completion agreed for 16 Feb and exchange is soon.
