Hi everyone! Just got back from our house!!! All went absolutely smoothly and we had the keys by 2pm. Have already met our neighbour who seems lovely.

Sadly have to wait another week to properly move in, but it's ours now and we can go back and visit whenever we want.ย

Hope everyone else who was meant to be completing today made it across the line!
Fantabulous news ๐Ÿค— So delighted to hear this! Enjoy your new home when you get in - so pleased it all went smoothly. Happy day ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒป

Mine suppose to be a straightforward purchase. We are renting at the moment, and seller is just selling her investment with the tenants moved out at the end of August.

On one hand, EA told me my solicitor is very efficient as she has been working with her for the past few years. On the other hand, my solicitor never update me on the progress, never reply my emails and voice messages.ย ย

Radio silence since the draft contract pack received and the local searches have been sent out on 1 Sept. Tried to call her to ask for an update on Mon.ย  I know they must be busy with stamp duty.ย  Will try again tomorrow.

The joys of the process I'm afraid.

Up until about 2 weeks ago, my solicitor was in constant contact, then I sent her an email and it took her 10 days to reply. Bless her, she did apologise and explained how much work she has on. I'm a FTB so no stamp duty rush.

I expect after this week, things will calm down. Something that works for me is being extra sweet and understanding when sending an email "hope you're well...I can't imagine your workload...thank you for everything so far, really appreciate it...". ย

Seems to be working for me.

Iโ€™m currently sat in my empty house waiting for a phone call. This is painful. Xxx
Really hope you got in okay. We're all rooting for you!!! ๐Ÿคž
  • @justcat01 Great to hear your news! We have to celebrate all the successes and completing your chain is up there. Hope it all progresses well from here.

Fantastic news @E_D_FTB ! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฅณ congratulations it sounds like it went brilliantly in the end. So happy to hear that!ย

I can relate to waiting to moving in, our furniture from storage isnโ€™t going in til next week but itโ€™s giving me time to try and work out what will go where.

    Exciting times ahead - enjoy!ย

Ok so the hope was short lived !!ย

Feels like one step forward and two back sometimes.ย
This is us every time. Spoke to my daughter today and she said, don't be hopeful. Hope always makes it go wrong. Those steps back are so frustrating...but at least there was one forward. Wishing you some better luck from now on!
  • Completion statement received today ahead of completion tomorrow. Funds confirmed received by our solicitor so we're all good to goย  :)
Good news - sounds like it's going to plan!

Welcome @novelle ๐Ÿ‘‹ That sounds very familiar - our solicitor only seems to respond when she feels pressure from action in the rest of the chain. To be fair, they must be so busy this week (as you say) and will be focusing on those who can complete in time. Hopefully the silence will break tomorrow.ย

We didnโ€™t complete til 15:25 so itโ€™s been a bit of a mad dash, but we are in. Surrounded by boxes & bags. Had a glass of fizz. Canโ€™t quite believe it. Xxx
