Seconding congratulations to all who have exchanged/completed; and best of luck to everyone who is waiting 🤞
Ours pretty much came crashing down yesterday. After I asked our estate agent if our buyer was actually proceedable on Tuesday, outright, they maintained that he was... but chased him, and he admitted that we were no longer waiting on a second valuation, but were now appealing the valuation as it was £20k shy of what he wanted. Our EA helped with his appeal and asked what his back-up plan was, he didn't reply. They assured us that he was going as fast as he could.
Yesterday our vendors EA told us that our vendor really wants to sell to us, but feels that we don't have a proceedable buyer, and therefore he needs to protect his own interests... they've got viewings arranged for today. They said in their opinion, we should have remarketed weeks ago.
Our estate agent came back yesterday and said they had debated advising us to remarket but felt it was "harsh" on our buyer, and therefore hadn't. I asked them to follow up with the person who made the other offer, who is going to let us know by tomorrow... otherwise, they've now recommended that we remarket, after confirming that our buyer is £10k short if the appeal fails.
I feel lost, to be honest. I'm now in my third trimester, and there's no other houses for sale where we wanted to be. It's far too small here. I felt something was wrong all the way through, but people kept saying it was normal and fine...
I hope you're all having better days!Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

I hope you're all having better days! The only consolation I can offer is the sentiment that if it’s meant to be it will be.
We have tried to move house to varying extents 3 times in the last 10 years. Actually if we had moved when we wanted to initially (all 3 times) we would have been so much worse off. Staying where are has meant I was able to care for my terminally ill mum, even during lockdown when I moved in with her. It wouldn’t have been do-able if we had made our move. Now she has passed away our house is worth more than it has ever been.I do believe everything happens for a reason, it’s just not always the reason we want it to be at the time. I know it’s hard to think it now but everything happens for a reason0 -
That's so terrible, what a nightmare. Hopefully you're other offer person will still be interested and that will calm down your sellers and stop them from going with someone else. They know you're a good buyer, even if your buyer has been a nightmare, and they have no guarantee they'll end up with someone reliable if they go for someone else.HopeAndDriftWood said:Seconding congratulations to all who have exchanged/completed; and best of luck to everyone who is waiting 🤞

Well, no call from the solicitor yet to give authority to exchange, so I'm starting to feel like it won't happen today either. That means it's been 1 week since we first gave authority. *sigh* I know it doesn't really matter as long as it happens in time for completion on Thursday, but I'm just feeling very frustrated by how stupid it all is.
@scottie21 hope you're having a better time of it? Would like to see one of us exchange this week at least!10th June - DIP submitted
