    Hi everyone ☺️ I've finally caught up on the thread after taking a break. Massive congratulations to all those who have exchanged/completed. Hooray for @Monsternextdoor @Cookie211 @WorriedKirkels @bailyleykxo @cheeky-peach @tanpopo @Rincewindcl @ss2020jd @MayMark @vixst @neydejean @Kazzam1984 @Elle83 @toniq @clare19811 @Ally_E. @heartofzinc @James-may @mat1964🎉🎉🎉

It's a comfort to see that some long time companions on here have made it & gives me hope that we might too. If you've completed, I wish you happiness in your new homes 🌻

Thank you @birdmadgirl8 good to see you on here again. Hoping that it’s not too long for you now. Just read your update - it is definitely a rollercoaster and stress fest. 🤪 I hope it all comes together soon and stays together.

Sometimes before the lowest point things start picking up pace so I hope that happens for you. Our exchange was a daily rollercoaster of will it won’t it for a week before it happened and it was even worse when selling. Anyway I hope some of our exchange magic dust vibes make their way over to you.

We are hoping to complete Monday  🤞 funds transferred to solicitor so hope it all goes to plan after the delayed completion on selling which apparently never happens! But we got there in the end and sure you will too.  We went round to view the house again this week and are so excited again (apart from the millions of holes in the wall 😬 which is a small price to pay for having everything left as expected and agreed - hope it stays like that ‘til we get the keys!).

I hope you are there very soon will keep keeping all crossed for you and good luck to everyone who’s close and congratulations to those who have had positive news! 🎉

    Thank you badmadgirl8!

We are moving tomorrow but completed and had the key on Monday (the end of an 8 month journey). We've been painting every night since and are very much looking forward to putting our feet up and celebrating tomorrow evening!

I hope that you too come into some good news soon!

This process has been so stressful, I am just grateful to have a lovely solicitor who is proactive and doesn't need chasing, as I'm sure I would have had a breakdown if I'd had to deal with some of the solicitors the rest of you have!

    So quite a few things have happened since my last post;

    • The survey was booked for Friday 27/08/2021
    • 31/08/21 had a call from the vendor's estate agent concerned that the surveyor did not show. It transpires that on arrival at the property the surveyor realised they knew the vendor and so couldn't give an unbiased report.
    • After lots of chasing by our solicitor and our mortgage broker, a second survey was arranged for 08/09/2021
    • 13/09/2021 finally get the go ahead from our lender to proceed. Agree completion date of 23/09/2021 (Today!)
    • 14/09/2021 our buyer pulls out  :'(
    • 15/09/2021 our vendor relists the property for £35k more than our offer - well beyond our reach.
    • 16/09/2021 our house is relisted at the same asking price
    • 22/09/2021 accept offer from a cash buyer, memorandum of sale issued and our solicitor in contact to say they are sending the draft contract out by the end of the week.
So now we are in limbo waiting for our vendor to decide if they will proceed with our offer or if they are holding out for that extra £35k. We will miss the stamp duty holiday deadline and if we need to find a new property to purchase, we won't be in before Christmas.

I hate the property buying process!!!!
So sorry to hear all this. I remember your backstory and it's been so tough. Heard so many tales of relisting & really wish we had laws to prevent it. Surely you must have some luck soon. Sending virtual hugs in solidarity 🌼

Oh no, @birdmadgirl8, I don't know how you're still going! I would have given up. Hopefully your buyer will reconsider, and whoever's threatening to pull out will calm down and realise if they do it could take far longer to complete in a different chain.

Thanks for kind words. Had a glimmer of hope today. Buyer is prepared to talk dates through solicitors. Fingers crossed it gets agreed by weekend so that we can sleep (until next crisis 🙃). I know our sellers are really anxious too.

Whoop I finally exchanged yesterday! Completion date set for 28th Sept.
    Soooo excited now
Really glad this part is done now, got my buildings insurance all in place. So just the tormenting wait until next week! but its going to be oh so worth it!

    Good Luck to everyone else!
Hooorrraayyy 💥 great news! Keeps us all going!

Hopefully, as the spray foam will be removed 🤣🤣🤣
Did you exchange? We didn’t 😞
I rang to chase it and the solicitor had gone home for the day, hadn’t told me either way. I asked them to chase it as I needed to sort building insurance. So I just know we haven’t exchanged. I don’t know why 🤷🏼‍♀️
I can't believe they just left you hanging like that! Sending positive vibes your way and really hope exchange happens tomorrow 🤞

Nope, or at least I assume not. Haven't heard anything from our solicitor since giving authority this morning. Did get a text from Nationwide to say fund had been requested, though, so assume we're still on for completion.
It really is so painful. Must be frustrating, but hopefully you'll make that completion date. Good luck for tomorrow!

Aww thank you! ☺️ I'll be thinking of you on Monday. I hope it all goes to plan. Great to hear you still love the new house. One of the jobs on my list of things to do as soon as we exchange is to take down pictures (we have way too many), so that I can fill holes. You never know, your sellers might be planning to do that job before they vacate...
