After the last few weeks I was expecting one final drama but nothing which was an amazing feeling 😁
We knew the place we were buying needed work but I expected the vendors to leave it clean and tidy - nope! So now surrounded by boxes whilst we deep clean 🧼 But….we’re in and that’s all that matters.
A big thank you to everyone on this thread for keeping me sane and providing advice - you are all fab! Good luck for everyone still waiting to exchange and complete 🤞🙏 🍀

so now battle with solisitor to ensure I dont get charged for fees as no fault of my own has it fallen through so I should only be liable for the searches costs.
back to square one which is where I started lookin in March and now feel like giving up until next summer maybe will see.
good luck everyone0 -

Hi all been reading through this thread and found it really helpful. My situation is offer accepted in April sold my property in June (buyer was a FTB and didn’t want to wait) so staying with family until I complete on the purchase. The purchase has been a nightmare mainly due to my solicitors who don’t seem to know what is going on most of the time.
last week if looked like I wouldn’t be moving for a while and this got changed late last week to looking at completion for 24th September! Everything feels very rushed and I’m feeling very stressed.
I honestly feel I’m not ready for this as I just don’t feel I have the information I need - trying to work out if this is normal or if I need to battle the solicitors for more information0 -

Just been reading back, congrats to everyone with movement, completion and exchange.
I'm two months in without so much as a draft contract.
They have had to sort some legal issues with the house first but I'm getting fed up.
The paperwork was all due last week so hopefully there will be some movement soon!1 -

Had an email from our vendor asking for the details of our surveyor as they thought he was really good. Of course I'm happy to provide but secretly wished they were further ahead than that! We had the survey completed back on the 5th August, basically a month after our offer was accepted.0

Finally got an update from our solicitor today!
They've had nothing from our buyer's solicitor, so they're chasing, but hopefully that means all enquiries are resolved.
We're waiting on a response from our seller's solicitor, plus confirmation that our bank doesn't mind the partial loft conversion... and then our buyer's mortgage offer. They should be booking the valuation for our house this week...
Our solicitor seems happy that it'll go over the line in time today, which is uplifting...
Good luck everyone. @greensalad, I hope they book the survey in quickly! I'm half-expecting our buyer to suddenly want a survey... @EndlessStruggle I hope you get your draft contract soon! The waiting is insane.
Congratulations to everyone who exchanged and completed recently 🥳Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:1
