The delay caused by our buyer’s solicitor and lender just gave them the excuse to justify this course of action. It’s so very annoying of them to do it four days from exchange though. I offered full asking price when it was listed so it wasn’t like I tried to cheat them in any way. Needless to say we will not be pursuing purchase of their property at any price!!! Congrats to those of you who have either exchanged or completed!!!!
There should be some type of caveat when listing a house that if you pull out to list it for dearer, then you incur a monetary charge for doing it or paying the other persons legal fees.1 -

Morning all.
Rejoining this thread as I think we are nearing exchange and completion again! My previous posts are in this thread many months ago, but to cut a long story short, we were just about to exchange back in June and on the same day the chain collapsed. The people we are buying off (we are FTBs) asked us to stick with them, which we did whilst they found another place and progressed a new sale. Fast forward to today and another mortgage application completed (the first one expired and barclays would only extend by 2 months, so we got a better rate elsewhere) and I'm hoping today is when we will agree exchange and completion dates!
Good luck to everyone this week2 -

Agreed @WorriedKirkels it will hopefully come back and bite them on the 🍑.1 -
