I feel you so much on the landlord front – I'm dying for a confirmed completion date so I can figure out how much money this woman is gonna squeeze out of us before we leave lol – it's getting me through thinking it'll be great to not have a landlord anymore!!E_D_FTB said:
Great news! We've told our landlord that we will be moving onto a periodic tenancy, and it's not going down well. It just such a crappy situation - just want to exchange and set a completion date so we can be honest and start planning.Cookie211 said:Update… probate solicitor have received the grant he’s now sent it to solicitor seller and hopefully be able to set a date for exchange then 🤞🤞🤞0 -
I feel this in my soul. The EA who manages our property was like "well you could agree to 2 months notice and we'll do our very best to find someone faster" and it's like, but that's not a guarantee! And frankly, as nice as our landlord is, they've made plenty of money from us over the last 3 years, they can handle a month without rent, we cannot afford a month of both rent and mortgage.tomnookfan said:

Hello everyone.
I have been off for a week as Im not well, But my progress is we have paid the deposit, signed a few more bits and now are waiting on the completion date so I can organise my removals.
Im surrounded by boxes in various states and a pile of bin bags as I am clearing out as much as I can before I move. Because when we move I have to clear the house I will be moving into
Now just to organise my Husband accomodation and move in. 0 -
Fantastic news 😁Cookie211 said:Update… probate solicitor have received the grant he’s now sent it to solicitor seller and hopefully be able to set a date for exchange then 🤞🤞🤞1 -
You’re doing the right thing tho @E_@E_D_FTB, you need to protect yourself until you have your exchange sorted, hopefully it won’t be too long 🤞xE_D_FTB said:
Tell me about it! This is just such a painful and frustrating process, I don't know how it's so bad! And it's terrible when you're renting because you are in such a vulnerable position - you can't be honest in case the sale falls through or gets delayed because you'll end up homeless.Cookie211 said:
Thank u, oh no hopefully your landlord will be ok, for me I never want to move again after this, fingers crossed we hear soon about exchange, so can’t wait to have a smile on my face again as I’m so bloody miserable at the moment it’s unrealE_D_FTB said:

But it sounds like yours is almost there - hopefully you'll be back on here later in the week with an exchange date.1 -
Sounds like it won’t be long if deposits have been paid to solicitors. Feeling slightly jealous 😛 xMonsternextdoor said:Hello everyone.

Well I have spent the day starting to pack. So grateful to my mum for coming around and helping me as we’ve spent hours and have hardly made a dent! Whilst we aren’t sure what’s happening with our buyers buyer and our vendors solicitor is still AWOL I thought it might help to do something which is in my control. It was actually quite therapeutic going through cupboards and finding things which brought back happy memories 😃. Hopefully we will get some sort of update before the weekend 🤞x0

Fingers crossed u hear soon, I haven’t even thought of packing yet as just don’t know what to expect next, I have been trying to keep myself busy by cooking and making different cakes 🎂 but now as I’m sitting down I just can’t get the house out of my head 🤯 another day tomorrow hopefully we will all have some nice newsWorriedKirkels said:Well I have spent the day starting to pack. Yep 👍 tomorrow is a new day and hopefully a much more positive one too! Just had an email to say the vendors solicitor is on holiday and that’s why there is no progress so the EA is going to push the team to pick up the outstanding enquiries in their absence (solicitors are part of the same Group as the EA) - so maybe a small glimmer of hope 🤞. So excited for you now probate has come through, the end should definitely be in sight now 😀 xCookie211 said:
