Hi all! Newbie here and long time lurker… 😂 I feel like now is the right time to pop in and introduce myself! I’m a FTB and had our offer accepted on the 7th June - we are going to the solicitors tomorrow to sign our contracts 😃 The process has been beyond smooth, but now I feel like every single minute is an hour of waiting, and I have no idea what to expect next! It seems everybody sends their deposit, exchanges and completes SUPER quickly, so I’m getting a bit scared now haha! I can’t wait to get some exchange and completion dates in the diary so I know where I stand - I’m just praying the next 2 weeks runs smoothly 😬3

I’ve I’ve completed yesterday. But it was a shambles.Packed up the van and I cleaned my house by 10.30am , had to leave by 1pm latest. My solicitor didn’t receive the funds from my buyer’s solicitor till 2.30pm.So from 10.30am I was chilling at my sisters with all my stuff and vans + car full of stuff. My solicitor transferred the funds to my seller’s solicitor at 2.30pm.They haven’t confirm that they received it till 4.55pm and I had to go the the seller’s other house to pick the keys up.So I almost ended up being “homeless” for the night. I mean I could have stayed at my sisters. But that’s not the point. But the seller cleaned the house so I don’t need to do much. The hard part is to unpack everything.Good luck everyone , it will be worth it.2

Hello, thought I would introduce myself as I likely have a long wait ahead of me.
I'm a FTB, viewed a house Tuesday and offered on Tuesday. It was accepted on Wednesday.
The house is currently rented and the tenants have been given their 4 month notice and it is likely they will take all of it.
Hoping it goes as smoothly0 -
Congratulations to everyone who made it today and also looking forward to tomorrow for others.
I don’t want to be too negative as what’s happened to us is ‘extremely rare’ but in case it helps anyone going through the same. Our fixed completion date didn’t happen as the bottom of the chain’s funds didn’t materialise and apparently won’t until next week. We exchanged a month ago and all deposits in place. My buyers were left surrounded by boxes and cancelled their removals. The solicitors started a notice to complete which I believe gives them 10 days to complete but I have no idea whether they will do or not. It depends on the funds coming through. I think from what I understand claims can then be made against them and deposits forfeited if they don’t complete. It doesn’t bear thinking about if we don’t complete. So I am trying not to. It’s out of my control so have to just keep calm.I hope there is some happier news on here from others to keep me having faith in humankind!0 -
@ss2020jd - I really feel for you and what you are going through is what we all fear as part of the exchange/ completion phase. I do hope it gets sorted and you and everyone else in the chain can still progress. Please keep us up dated on how things go as we will be thinking of you c1

Thanks so much @WorriedKirkels and @Deleted_User. I really appreciate your kind words and will definitely update as and when there is any progress.
All I know is it is due to delays with the release of funds. There were issues around delayed exchange as well but we thought once that was done it would be okay. All we can hope for is that it’s just a couple of days delay at most, and not the unthinkable!I hope it doesn’t make others fear unnecessarily - as I said it’s apparently such a rare event so please stay positive everyone. This process is stressful enough without worrying about other things that probably would never happen (except to me)!2 -

@ss2020jd So sorry to read about this - really hope it gets sorted soon. Such a nightmare, especially if you have a complicated move. Anyway, let's hope it's a temporary (if unnerving) problem. Good luck!1
