No real update for us really. Our estate agent is chasing the buyers solicitor for an update.
a house that’s sold 2.5 weeks before ours completes tomorrow and I’m so negged our 😢0 -
Still waiting here for hopefully exchange today, sorry so many others are finding it so difficult to make progress. I just want the phone to ring!0

Small amount of progress today.
6/8 Enquires back, and solicitor has requested my HTB ISA details to claim the bonus.
The remaining 2 enqs are straightforward so hopefully wont take long.
Must be close now?!?!
We hit 5 months since offer accepted on Monday0 -
@78sk - is yours a complicated chain / sale as 5 months sounds like a nightmare!0

Lots of non-movement in the thread at the moment - sorry for everyone's lack of progress! Hope the phone rings for those of you on tenterhooks for imminent exchange!
We're just waiting for answers to enquiries on our purchase - they were only sent 2 weeks ago, and our solicitor chased last week, so it's all fair enough, but it doesn't stop me constantly refreshing email, etc. I think the enquiries are all fairly straightforward, but there are a couple that do need resolving, so I'm dreading any 'spanner in the works' answers that would make it all drag on for ages! I would love to be in the position to set a target completion date, as I think I'd feel less in limbo then, even if it ended up having to change in the end!
Someone above mentioned possible exchange/completion on the same day - our solicitors are also recommending this at the moment to avoid any problems with COVID self-isolation after exchange. We said we'd prefer to exchange at least the day before at all possible, as I also feel stressed at the idea of it happening on the same day, especially as a lot of removal companies seem to charge extra if the keys aren't received until later in the day (which is surely more likely in that situation).2 -
Sale and purchase both agreed on June 1.
Our sellers are annoyed we haven't exchanged yet, but sounds like we're getting through it all much faster than many.0 -
Trying to stay calm but it’s difficult. Was due to complete. Just heard completion will not be able to take place until Monday (expected not guaranteed) due to bottom of the chain mortgage funds not being released until then! They did mess about with exchange and completion date before and asked for it to be delayed before exchange so a new date was set.
I’m not sure what to do my solicitor says should serve a notice to complete on our buyers but I’m sure the buyers are as stressed as I am!I stupidly thought once we exchanged (a month ago now) and completion date was fixed that would be it. Everything already moved into storage, place cleaned, garden tended, welcome gifts left as we are now renting a long way from where we are selling.Everything I have read says this is extremely rare to happen so I wasn’t worried about it! I don’t think I can cope with any more stress as the moment.0 -
Soo...spoke to my estate agent and she thinks that we "may" be in the position to start talking about exchange dates next week! Buyer has had searches back and mortgage approved, we've responded to their one enquiry - our purchase is similarly tied up. Both just waiting on final report packs.
Not really sure what that means in terms of timeline but I'm very excited!! Also means the completion is looking increasingly like it might converge with my due date (3 and a bit weeks)... Certain family members who offered to move for us if needed may have to make good on their promise!!
Of course I may well be posting in this thread in 6 weeks time, babe in arms despairing over some last minute hitch, but I'm trying to be optimistic...!0
