@flyingv - I don’t know how you have coped - I would have cracked up by week 16 at the latest! Really have everything crossed for you making it to completion! Good luck x

Thanks so much x  All the other people who were on here when I first joined the thread are long gone, I'm the last one standing ha!  Still moaning, still waiting, still trying to keep smiling :)
Not that it's a competition, but Week 38 here. Oh the joy 🤪
Oh god, it's truly painful isn't it.  But still, a name I remember from the dim and distant past of my first foray into this thread, yay! :D  Hope things are pushing on for you now.  It took a sternly worded email to my solicitor last week to get things rolling again.
Fingers crossed we'll be packing and moving soon

So signed the contract this morning and organised the chaps payment. Solicitors are convinced we will complete on Friday. Movers are booked, internet is going over to new house then so *everything crossed*. Now back to living out boxes and boiling in this weather.

    Hi -

Just looking for general advice/opinions. We are due to complete next Friday (30th) and in a 4 party chain where all solicitors agreed to aim for this date back in April.

Our contracts are signed and we’re ready to go, but dealing with constant hold ups on our buyer and sellers end. We’re being told to be ready for the 30th and ideally wanted to exchange this week, but now solicitors are saying exchange and complete on the same day may be the only option.

This thought terrifies me! Has anyone had to do this? How on earth are you supposed to prepare, book removals etc? I’ve said we would rather not be in this position and rather delay to the week after if necessary, but just wondered what others experience is. Cautious anything could go wrong until the last min!
  • So, I sold my property beginning of May. Solicitor assigned, paperwork completed. The buyers mortgage surveyor has been to visit, 6 weeks ago, and I’ve chased and been told paperwork is pinging between my solicitor and the buyers solicitor. Am I being for bed off, or is there still some way to go? I’ve purchased a property in the meantime, EA for that property assures me I’m apparently not far from exchange and completion, however I’ve not heard a thing from my solicitor!
