Best of luck to everyone today.
Really starting to dread calling my solicitors and seeing what new level of incompetence the assistant will reach.2 -
Wishing everyone good luck for today.
My date has finally been agreed for the 30th now so have to wait a few weeks longer 😭1 -
still can't get my head round exchanging/completing same day. I've moved quite a lot in my time (although this will be the first time since 2010) and all of my previous moves have had a 3 or 4 week gap between exchange and completion. How do people manage the uncertainty, removals etc?0

rose_T said:Well today is Friday. When we went to see our solicitor on Wednesday she told us she would be in contact by the end of the week to ether confirm the 15th as date of entry or to confirm another weeks delay.I am not holding my breath so expecting to be told to delay another week.I can not fault my solicitor at all she has been on the ball from day one, it’s the other side who is constantly holding everything up! They had nothing organised or prepared even the title deeds were lost and they suggested the 1st July lolJust received a call, looks like another delay with no date. The venders solicitor is so slow and sent a nippy email to my solicitor. So now it’s just a waiting game.My solicitor believes he has a few files open to complete and is trying to work through them but with the drip and drab emails and information he is feeding my solicitor she can’t finish her part and that is frustrating her.Timeline
July 20 - first made contact with 1 executor and emailed their lawyer who was dealing with confirmation to note interest. From July 20 - April 21 - emails back and forth to their solicitor. She also emailed asking for updates on us if we are still interested etc.April 21 - confirmation granted, home report done
may 12 - offer accepted
may 17- mortgage applied for and mortgage offer received 3hrs after full application.8 weeks and counting No chain off market purchase0 -
Completion day here too, anxiously waiting on that phone call!1

Just heard from my solicitor. Santander are now querying some large scale works that need doing to the building, and how i'm going to be able to afford them. I've had my mortgage offer for 4 months, and they leave it up to the day before completion to start querying this! My solicitor has gone back to them with my answer which he thinks is more than acceptable, and he doesn't know why they are querying this now.
Hopefully everything is still on for today but i'm not convinced it's going to happen now!0 -

We accepted an offer on our property 19th May. Already had a sale agreed on another property (vendors are going in to rented).
Last solicitors in the chain instructed 25th May.
We are a 3 property / 4 household chain.
All mortgage offers / searches etc sorted. Just waiting to see if there's one more enquiry?
Now looking at exchange asap if possible for completion end of the month.
They were going to try for exchange today but it's been delayed till tomorrow morning but fingers crossed it happens then before the weekend!
7 weeks from offer to exchange I feel is pretty good going at the moment. Such a fantastic team of solicitors, estate agents and mortgage brokers. Feeling very grateful.
Moving day isn't until the end of the month but we can sort ourselves out properly now! x9 -
