I'm another one still waiting for a completion date. First completion date was meant to be the 30th June. Clearly didn't happen. Asked for today, didn't get a response. Now silence again. !!!!!!.
I’ve been told I will be called back… it’s been 2 hrs so far.

How hard is it just to get a completion date!? Gave them 3 days to contact the vendors solicitor and get a date… still nothing I don’t think they’ve even contacted them 🤦🏼‍♀️ We are only in a chain with one other person.
We need to know two weeks in advance as it is 🤦🏼‍♀️🙃
    I’m the same :(
im good to complete on the 21st , the house I’m buying they happy with the 21st as well.

Told my solicitor to email my buyers one and the EA done the same. That exchange will need to be yesterday the latest.

So far nothing happened and none heard from my buyers solicitor since the 22nd of June.
So frustrating, I want to call their EA but I don’t even know what to say

Just call them and ask for an update , or just want to know what’s the reason for the hold up.

I told them I need 2 weeks so I can book a kennel for my dogs , and sort out removals. But they don’t seem to care :(

I’ve called my solicitor and they’re meant to get back to me. I’m not sure about calling their EA because it’s a little awkward if they don’t know we’re looking for a completion date. It’s hard to know what infos been passed over and what hasn’t.

Call the EA. They usually know what's going on.

There is yet another hold up on my sale due to the sellers debt. I am absolutely sick of this.

Thank you! Hopefully you get sorted soon
  • I will tentatively join!
We accepted an offer on our property 19th May. Already had a sale agreed on another property (vendors are going in to rented).
Last solicitors in the chain instructed 25th May.
    We are a 3 property / 4 household chain.

All mortgage offers / searches etc sorted. Just waiting to see if there's one more enquiry?

Now looking at exchange asap if possible for completion end of the month.
So our solicitors managed to quickly get our contracts out to us for signing yesterday.
They were going to try for exchange today but it's been delayed till tomorrow morning but fingers crossed it happens then before the weekend!

Starting to feel quite nervous about my offer that was accepted 3 weeks ago. My mortgage has been approved subject to physical valuation. The bank contacted the EA/vendor mid last week to organise a date for access and it still hasn't been booked in.

I spoke to the EA today and she said they have been calling/emailing the vendor for a few days and are not getting a response. I know the vendor did confirm access for a building survey this week to be conducted next week, so not sure what the delay is. I am quite worried about a down valuation, so really wanted the valuation back before spending £1k on the building survey...I have until Monday to cancel the survey without penalty.
Try not to worry to much, it's quite early days for you at this point. Could be a multitude of reasons seller hasn't booked access yet, many of which could be fine.

I was worried about down valuation too - given that the house I was buying was the most expensive semi on the street ever - but it was absolutely fine. You could always try and move the date of the structural survey if worried, I probably wouldn't pay for one until I had the mortgage offer, but this could obviously inconvenience the vendors if already arranged
Thanks - The estate agent said they were going to remarket the property if I didn't book in a survey. They put a big rush on me to get everything going and now the vendor is delaying access, so quite annoyed.

Sounds similar to our situation, also pushed to book a survey and the vendor is now the one holding up the progress with their survey booked for the end of the month. Possibly they had a sale fall through before and are being very cautious now.

God this is driving me around the bend. EA chased me today for an update, spoke to solicitors assistant and they still haven't sent over the enquiries despite them looking "v straight forward" searches have been back nearly 3 weeks so no idea what's holding that up.

Vendor is concerned about the house being empty and paying 2 sets of bills untill we complete. I can't imagine they'd pull out as it would take another few months to get to this same point surely. But feel very powerless atm.
