So fed up!!!Really thought we where getting somewhere today! Solicitor wanted us in to go over title deed and get us to sign a couple of forms. She did say we are looking at the 15th as date of entry when she made the appointment for us to go in.Got there a few questions raised with deeds, our vendors solicitor is just sending drips and drabs of information which my solicitor can’t to her part due to waiting on them! Now funny part is the vendors solicitor sent a letter asking for date of entry on the 1st July! What a cheek! When they and the vendors ( 4 executors who hate each other and don’t talk) have never had anything in place!Last week we were awaiting deeds but the executors didn’t know where they were so had to order a copy.Honestly we have been in talks since last July we have waited patiently for them to argue through confirmation etc.So now it’s a waiting game if my solicitor doesn’t get the information needed by Friday then it’s another weeks delay0

Hi everyone just thought I'd pop in and read a few stories from those in my position!
We are hoping to complete a week tomorrow (16th) but still no exchange. My solicitor wanted to exchange this week but it seems both my vendor and buyer's solicitors are being really slow. Constantly starting at my phone waiting for an update. My solicitor rang me on Tuesday to say he had had another question from my buyer (arrangements for picking up keys) and they still hadn't agreed an exchange date! This is so stressful.
I've also got my mortgage adviser constantly badgering me about a date, plus the sales progressor from the EA asking for constant updates. Can't wait for all this to be over 😅0 -
Wooohooo some positive news this morning. Our sellers EA called this morning, they are actually dealing with the top end of the chain too. The top of the chain have suggested a completion date of the wc 26th July or 2nd Aug! Still later than we wanted but better than nothing. We have asked for the wc 26th July as I have this booked off and my husband has 2 days booked of as it my 30th that week. Fingers crossed we exchange next week and can finally start moving towards the finish line!
I'm pretty sure I will spend my 30th moving house, but I actually couldn't care less!1 -
Is it true that if you haven't heard by lunchtime, there's no chance of exchange and completion the following day? Wondering when to resign myself to the fact that this won't be happening this week. Five months and counting...uffffff.0

metalloz said:Starting to feel quite nervous about my offer that was accepted 3 weeks ago. My mortgage has been approved subject to physical valuation. The bank contacted the EA/vendor mid last week to organise a date for access and it still hasn't been booked in.
I spoke to the EA today and she said they have been calling/emailing the vendor for a few days and are not getting a response. I know the vendor did confirm access for a building survey this week to be conducted next week, so not sure what the delay is. I am quite worried about a down valuation, so really wanted the valuation back before spending £1k on the building survey...I have until Monday to cancel the survey without penalty.
I was worried about down valuation too - given that the house I was buying was the most expensive semi on the street ever - but it was absolutely fine. You could always try and move the date of the structural survey if worried, I probably wouldn't pay for one until I had the mortgage offer, but this could obviously inconvenience the vendors if already arranged0 -
That's great news @justwanttomove
Its my birthday next week and I would give my right arm to be moving then, would be the best present ever!

I'm another one still waiting for a completion date. First completion date was meant to be the 30th June. Clearly didn't happen. Asked for today, didn't get a response. Now silence again. !!!!!!.1
