  • We are now in the lull of waiting for searches to come back. The LAs website says "approx 4 weeks". Anyone know if this is a best endeavours or if it's a worst case scenario?
Give your LA a call they can advise if the timeline is correct, the website said 3 weeks for ours (north Northamptonshire) but came back within two weeks

Good luck to all hoping to exchange/complete today.

Our solicitor said we can do both today providing my parents solicitor is available...don’t hold out much hope.

our solicitor yesterday morning even gave out his personal mobile to the solicitor on the other side so we can get this done and she still left at 4.30!! With so many people aiming to complete by tomorrow to make STLD I don’t understand why you would do this.

Will be on edge all day waiting for calls/email etc. Parents calling theirs this morning, I rattled off an email last night to ours saying if we can exchange  and complete today it would be preferred.
Good luck for today! Hope it all happens quickly this morning, it's the minimum your solicitor can do to make up for her early evening yesterday!

Maybe that's the time they finish work, maybe they need to get home to look after kids etc. Its not all about you remember, solicitors have lives as well. If it was ready to happen then it would have happened, they don't just ignore exchange for sh1ts and giggles.

It’s been ready for weeks. We agreed exchange Friday, then yesterday.

They knew mum and dad would need to sign and have witnessed an insolvency document in April, the solicitor didn’t tell my parents this till 2 weeks ago. They were also emailing the wrong person to our side and were uncontactable for weeks.

They have been incompetent at every turn.

Again if its ready to go it would have happened. All solicitors are snowed under at the minute. Out of interest how much have you been emailing and calling them? If they have been emailing the wrong person on your side then you gave the wrong persons details no? If all that needs to happen is exchange and completion then it will happen imminently. When did you start the process?
