    Yet another crappy update

parents solicitor didn’t phone back....she’d left the office at 4.30. So while ours was trying to get through then she’d already left!!

My parents  called the office at 4.45 went absolutely ballistic and ours have said we can exchange and compete tomorrow if necessary. My parents are calling at 9am tomorrow morning.

The long await to exchange goes on
I share you frustration, it's horrible.
Your parents' solicitor is absolutely unprofessional, though! If they had agreed to exchange today, they couldn't just leave the office like that, without worrying they hadn't actually completed the tasks for the day, without even letting your solicitor know!!! Very unprofessional! I hope your parents will file a complaint!
    Horrendous honestly

    I can’t believe the unprofessionalism

mum and dad are going to put in a complaint to the practice manager tomorrow. Exchange was originally agreed Friday then today and now this. Just utterly infuriating.
Totally, They do the right thing to complain. Good luck for tomorrow, it's should really be the day! I still don't know what the hold up is for me, but I suspect it's either the lender being slow in confirming release of funds, or the seller's solicitor being slow in replying, although they seemed all ready this morning, according to the agent. Let's see if I get news before tomorrow!

Update from me, I emailed my solicitor last week to see if we can complete asap as I was thinking of the kids school holidays coming up and would be difficult to move as I have 2 young autistic children and require alot of care and supervision and we dont have childcare. Anyway at the time her secretary replied and said she is due back monday from annual leave and will leave my email on her desk for when she returns.  Anyway just about an hour ago I received a hand delivered letter from my solicitor just basically saying they are chasing the sellers solicitor and have passed on my request to complete asap. Also that the seller doesnt agree to pay for a indemnity policy and if we would agree to pay. So we have agreed.  Hopefully it shouldn't be too long for us I hope. How soon before completion do they request our deposit? My solicitor still hasnt asked for our help to buy isa statements yet so I suppose they will ask for these first wont they? As we are due a bonus from them and then I suppose we will send the rest of the deposit minus the bonus. Anyway hope it's not much longer.

Congratulations to all that have managed to exchange and/or complete today and good luck to all those doing so over the next few days!
We're officially not completing this week after having sent the deposit to conveyancer, completed all checks, put insurance in place and received funds from the lender in preparation for exchange. I am devastated - we actually got from Offer Accepted to Exchange in 8.5 weeks and then it all fell apart. We've even both had amazing conveyancers on both sides who have replied to questions and enquiries/sent reports within hours of receiving them.
Our vendors are now struggling to find a rental due to pets and said they'd no longer be able to complete this week (today) as planned, therefore we didn't exchange. The EA asked what the next steps would be so we offered a delayed completion of 2m on the basis they accept a revised lower offer. The EA said they are considering it and we've not heard anything since that last week Tues. The EA followed up on Thurs, Fri and Sat and said he couldn't get hold of them at all and he's now on annual leave for 2 weeks and has passed everything on to his manager. I've accepted we're not completing this week but i just want an update that they're still considering it/a counter, something, anything to know that there's still a chance and they're not pulling the house from market.
I had a quick look over the last few days on Zoopla/RM etc and it's dire...the properties showing for sale are the same ones that have been on the market for months, are now reduced - they're in the areas we absolutely ruled out! :(

We exchanged at 4pm🥳😁 we complete Weds.

So relieved. My solicitor thought he was funny calling with a sombre voice saying it wouldn't be happening until tomorrow! My seller had text me as he called though 🤣

Congrats to those who have also exchanged or completed, fingers still firmly crossed for those still waiting.

I haven't posted much (didn't want to tempt fate) but this forum and all the stories and support have really helped me through this process, letting me know it may well be ok.

We first sold our house in Oct 2019, it fell through 5 weeks after initial planned completion date in May 2020. Scarred from the process, both emotionally and financially, we tentatively went back on the market in Feb, so happy we have the finish line in sight 😁 So everyone just hang in there your house is waiting for you somewhere.

Still no update from me. I popped a line to the solicitor 20 minutes ago, just to ask if the lender confirmed funds are arriving Wednesday and if she has exchanged, but since I hadn't heard anything from her, my hopes aren't high. So deflated we still haven't exchanged, and it's the lender holding up everything.
The agent told me the vendor has already dropped the keys at the agency, just let me pay the money and take the keyssss!!!! :(
Oh that's rubbish, hopefully you've had a late call.

Thank you. Sadly, no late call and no late email, so it hasn’t happened today, they could have at least dropped me a line in reply to say why it hasn’t happened. Every tiny step has taken forever and has dragged for days or even weeks, I feel I have no more energy.
On another note, congratulations for your exchange, that’s great! Hope completion goes smoothly!

Oh no that's really bad, they should have at least updated you. Yes it's been like wading through treacle here too, it's totally exhausting. Really hope you get some good news tomorrow x
