Congrats to all those success stories!
My solicitor has confirmed he is trying to push through on the 9th now - our buyers have indicated that a real cut off point for them!2 -

Still no update from me. I popped a line to the solicitor 20 minutes ago, just to ask if the lender confirmed funds are arriving Wednesday and if she has exchanged, but since I hadn't heard anything from her, my hopes aren't high. So deflated we still haven't exchanged, and it's the lender holding up everything.
The agent told me the vendor has already dropped the keys at the agency, just let me pay the money and take the keyssss!!!!Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

Loving all of the completions!
Also loving my solicitor, I sent him an email updating him on our new chain and the stuff I think needs doing and he just responded with "yes thx". Very efficient.1 -

Yet another crappy update
parents solicitor didn’t phone back....she’d left the office at 4.30. So while ours was trying to get through then she’d already left!!My parents called the office at 4.45 went absolutely ballistic and ours have said we can exchange and compete tomorrow if necessary. My parents are calling at 9am tomorrow morning. The long await to exchange goes on1 -

Your parents' solicitor is absolutely unprofessional, though! If they had agreed to exchange today, they couldn't just leave the office like that, without worrying they hadn't actually completed the tasks for the day, without even letting your solicitor know!!! Very unprofessional! I hope your parents will file a complaint!Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

Enjoyed reading all your updates and seeing some familiar frustrations and potential future pitfalls to look out for….Offer accepted:16/2/2021
solicitors instructed: 20/2/2021
Full mortgage offer issued: 4/3/2021
Searches/enquires complete and contract signed/title deeds and other paperwork signed and returned to solicitor: 18/6/2021
Current situation: After contract returned I had to also fill in some other paperwork for a help to buy isa as the solicitor “didn’t realise” we had one despite declaring all this in the initial pack we received in March. Have sent that off along with an email on Friday asking if there’s anything else we need to do?
I expect the next step will be paying the deposit funds and agreeing a completion date. Both us and the sellers are at a loss how it’s taken 5 months as neither of us have a chain.Fingers crossed for a speedy ending!0 -

I can’t believe the unprofessionalism
mum and dad are going to put in a complaint to the practice manager tomorrow. Exchange was originally agreed Friday then today and now this. Just utterly infuriating.1
