I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this. My solicitor raised a load of enquiries at the start of May which the vendors solicitor still hasn't answered to a satisfactory level, despite repeated chasing from the EA and my solicitor. Today they emailed my solicitor giving us a weeks notice that if we haven't completed before June 29th the vendor will pull out! Given the vendors solicitor STILL hasn't even answered the enquiries, this is baffling. I am ready to complete here! I suspect the vendors solicitor is not telling the vendor the entire story as they have repeatedly told fibs to the EA about having answered enquiries when they have sent nothing to my solicitor.
This date has never been mentioned before, and i'm a FTB, below the stamp duty threshold, buying an empty flat with no chain (that has been mentioned).
I'm so fed up right now.0 -

I dread seeing my EA's name pop up - truly dread it. I think I'm conditioned to the worst happening. I just want to get going now0 -

metalloz said:I've been following this thread religiously, especially since I had an offer on a property accepted by the vendor mid last week (FTB).
I've been told by the EA I need to have submitted the mortgage application, started solicitor searches and paid for a survey all within 8 working days otherwise they will consider putting it back on the market. This seems a little unfair? I have applied for my mortgage and want to wait for the outcome of the valuation, which I should get back next week before spending any more money (£1k+ for searches/survey)
Does this just seem like a pressure tactic or is it quite usual?
the start. Micromanaging the start would get right on my nervesMy reply would be
dear “agent”
Solicitor instructed, mortgage application in-train.Survey will be instructed in due course.Regards1 -

My solicitor is normally excellent at responding but I haven't had an update from her, we also asked if we could potentially ask the question to our sellers if they would break the chain so we can complete buy the end of June and we would pay for their removals and storage for a month or so until their purchase goes through and no response to that either. I emailed the EA to get another viewing round our purchased house as we haven't seen it in 14 weeks and no reply from them either.I am so unbelievably fed up. I have a new job looming which I had to take and we really want to start trying for baby number 2 but this house move is taking foreverrrrr!

laura_lau said:So many people expecting to exchange today, this is amazing! Fingers crossed it happens smoothly for everybody!
Don't really know if it's an update, but I've called the agent and they said the documents from property management, according to the seller's solicitor, have arrived, so it's just a matter of lender confirming they will be releasing funds in 5 days and, of course, of the solicitors doing their bit in time. She said her colleague emailed both solicitors today as they were kind of expecting to exchange today. Not holding my breath, as I haven't heard anything from my solicitor, but let's call it a glimmer of hope!1 -
