Sinking feeling already. Put offer in on latest house end of May and had sorted (re)finance by end of same week. Instructed solicitor to request searches straight away (that same week). She agreed. Today I discover that vendor's solicitor has not yet sent contract pack. Solicitor asks me to chase agent - who haven't responded to an email I sent about this last week. Our solicitor also tells me we won't get searches back until mid August 😭 By my calculation, we should have had them late July (based on when sol promised to request them). Did sums and it's clear she has only just requested them. Sigh.

Hi all,
Its good to see some positive news this week!!
We are due to complete on our first ever home this Friday! I'm restless to say the least!!
We haven't been able to get any moving company so have hired a van to move ourselves! It's crazy at the moment!!
Wishing everyone the best of luck this week1 -

Against all odds and a complete roller-coaster journey that we've been on since September, we are hoping to exchange tomorrow and complete next Tuesday! We should have easily made the first deadline! I can't quite believe we're so close to making the second and it's taken a herculean effort on my, my vendors and our fantastic solicitors part!
Our chain collapsed at the top and was only complete again 15 May, and the valuation was only done on our purchase on Thursday, so it's been an epic few days of chasing. Please let it happen tomorrow so I can breathe again 😂
Good luck to everyone on this bonkers ride!Painful anxious wait for you today, but I hope by this afternoon you will be celebrating xxx0 -
Well who knows what will happen this week for us. We went in to sign last Friday. Everyone else in the chain has also signed. We are supposed to complete on 29th . All along we asked for a week between exchange and completion as due to the amount of machinery etc in our outbuildings we need 3 removal vans and the removal company need 4 days to complete the move. Also when finally revisiting our purchase property after many months, the vendor has let everything slip and there was mould on the ceilings and filth everywhere. We agreed a key undertaking so we could clean and clear it before the move, but it is unlikely we will gain access before completion at this rate. Our solicitor is working valiantly to get exchange a few days before but so far the solicitor at the bottom has been resisting saying "we are ready but want simultaneous exchange and completion. The only way we could organise the removals was to have separate days for collection and then storage of the first two van loads so the first is happening today. eek! and - we are having to pay £5100 for the privilege. Astronomical but we decided that if it meant we could finally move, after originally starting our sale journey in August last year then it is worth it. We decided it was what we had to do, as if we left it to hearer the 29th the removal company wouldnt have the time to do the job. None of the problems we have encountered along the way were anything to do with our property, they were all to do with purchasers not telling the truth or having problems with their own sale but hopefully if we finally get across the line we can forget about that and carry on with our lives. So sick of living out of boxes. Please keep everything crossed for us.0

So sick of living out of boxes. Please keep everything crossed for us.Try and find out why simultaneous exchange/completion is needed. Our buyers dropped that on us on our sale near exchange too. Turned out they were getting a 100% springboard mortgage and therefore had zero deposit. Our buyers & us agreed on £2500 deposit just so we could have 10 days between. If you don’t know why they want same day, try to find out because if it’s a deposit issue you could try to negotiate a smaller deposit. All
parties have to agree but at least you would have some time between To sort out removals and the cleaning0 -
Its nothing to do with their deposit as far as we know - it's just their solicitor being difficult. Our solicitor is fuming and trying all ways to get them to agree. If not we just have to bite the bullet and do it all on the 29th. It is made a bit harder for us as my husband has health issues, plus I fell in January and hurt my arm which still isnt right and in all the mix my mother in law died at the beginning of June and we have had to sort the funeral etc. Plus we are in our 60's so even though we feel 30 in our heads our bodies dont necessarily agree. lol . We have done everything we can to facilitate the move for our buyers to meet the SD deadline - it doesnt really matter to us although the money we save will go towards the huge removal costs.0

My Update:
No word from Solicitors
Phoned lender again - They have said solicitors have put in for release of funds on the 24th with a completion date of 25th. I still do not have contracts. Does this mean we looking at exchange/complete on the 25th?
