Thank you @BountyBlink and @sw7 i'm always touched on how people in this thread are always so kind!

Oh I forgot to add, while bingeing on Poirot, I've also created a Pinterest board of styles from his flat that I want to recreate in my future living room. That's the most productive I felt in weeks!  :)

Hey guys, just popping in to see how you're all getting on and to promise you there is light at the end of the tunnel! We've been moved in more than 2 weeks now and we've just about got unpacked and made every room liveable. We love it so much, it was worth the long delays and stress.
Really hope you all get some positive news today/this week, especially the other long-timers :)
@laura_lau - I set up an Instagram account to save and share home decor ideas, and that kept me sane over the three months I was trapped in limbo having moved out of my flat and in to my boyfriend's little place while we waited to exchange. It gave me something to focus on, and gave me hope!
Property buying/selling timeline - currently into week 21
04/12/20: Both properties listed for sale
11/01/21: Offers accepted on both sales & on our joint purchase
25/01/21: Identity checks completed, solicitors instructed
27/01/21: Purchase survey & valuation complete, mortgage offer received
05/02/21: Reduction agreed on partner's sale (under-valuation) & on purchase. Mortgage offer amended
08/02/21: Buyers pack returned to solicitor - sellers packs already returned
    26/02/21: Partner's sale contract signed
    10/03/21: Purchase searches all back
    16/03/21: My sale contract signed
28/03/21: Purchase enquiries satisfied, Title Report & contracts issued, contracts signed & returned
11/05/21: Still waiting on final enquiry in the adjoining chain to be resolved. Consent to break the chain granted, instruction to move to exchange given.
17/05/21: All parties agreed to June 3rd for completion
27/05/21: Exchanged on my sale only
    28/05/21: ALL EXCHANGED!
    03/06/21: Completion
  • Morning all,

No news here again, really hope we hear something today! It's been 14 weeks since our offer was accepted. Last we hear a week ago on Friday was our sellers solicitor was going to prioritise the onwards purchase as a priority in her workload as that was all we are waiting for. We had 1 outstanding enquiry which needs a land transfer, at first she asked my solicitor to do it even though it her work, she then said she would get it over asap *this was on the 11th, still nothing. I feel like she really doesn't know what she is doing. The onward purchase had an offer accepted 4 weeks ago and nothing has progressed. Seeing as they are cash buyers etc I thought it would move faster.

They called their solicitor last tuesday to say it isn't good enough the pace they are going at, doesn't seem to have worked to be honest. Hoping we get some positive news today saying the transfer is in progress and they have moved on significantly with the onward purchase conveyancing.

    Good luck everyone!

Hi @Natbag so nice to see you are finally settled and happy in your new home!! Thank you so much for checking in with these updates, it definitely gives a little glimpse of the good things ahead, and I certainly needed to be reminded that!
Also, glad to see the sharing of décor ideas helped you, I'll definitely continue then, as I find it particularly enjoyable!

Been waiting for over a week for 3 enquiries to come back from the sellers solicitors which the vendor says they sent back within a day. I emailed my solicitors to get an update but they haven’t responded. Would now be the right time to chase again or, am I being too pushy?
  • Our solicitor has now had the draft contract from the sellers solicitor for 3 weeks (it was sent 1 June) and has not responded. She doesn't reply to emails, and is really short on the phone she's basically said she's busy until July.  I hate that solicitors can just take on more and more work regardless of whether it impacts the quality of service.

She claimed she's submitted the searches but a quick email to the local council confirmed that they had received no search requests for the property we're buying.

Good luck everyone. I hope positive news comes soon for you all. I know I’m a bit late to the party here but I understand and feel all the anxieties. It’s so horrible. I can’t actually eat at the moment - which is rare for me!

I did get an update saying it looks like everyone is now ready and have given my authority but that seems like ages ago and have not heard since! Deep breaths are the order of the day!

Sorry I am not replying to anyone but I’m holding my breath and feel so anxious.

We are attempting to exchange again just waiting confirmation from lender that funds will be released in time of completion next week.

Feel sick and thank goodness for this thread and you all. To share our troubles with people that know exactly what this anxiety feels like is so helpful!

Keeping fingers crossed for you and hope to hear the good news very soon!!! Totally get the sick feeling, hopefully it will be the last time you have to feel like that!!!
