The NEW waiting to exchange thread...

@BountyBlink I feel the same way! I've spent my entire day having imaginary conversations in my head about what I'm going to say when I call everyone involved on Monday. I can't wait for the day we get the keys and I can just breathe! And pour myself a large mojito.... I wouldn't be so anxious if solicitors just acknowledged they had recieved documents, we had a scary moment with thinking our mortgage had been declined as the broker (who also never acknowledged receipt of emails) never recieved the documents and our application got cancelled. If they just sent back a 2 second email saying documents recieved.... gah.0

Sorry so many are finding themselves in limbo. This is such a horrible process. I’ve been following the this thread for months now but haven’t posted for a couple of weeks as I’ve just been fiddling my thumbs waiting to exchange on my sale.My buyer is a FTB, no chain and offered above asking the first day I listed in March. EA talked her up as the perfect buyer who wanted to complete by end of June. Everything seemed to be going fairly smoothly, albeit with a few delays courtesy of my hideous freeholder who took 2 months to deal with enquiries, and then 4 days ago the EA informs me the buyer wants a ridiculous reduction due to a small issue with the lease which was resolved weeks ago. It all feels very calculated, as if she has waited until the last minute in order to force my hand. Have had a stressful week going back and forth with the buyer & solicitor and still waiting to hear if Exchange and Completion are set for June 28th.I honestly completely loathe my buyer at this point and praying this all concludes within the next week.
Best of luck to everyone stuck in this horrible waiting game.0 -

So I have also discovered that Barclays has an online checker for the mortgage app process

Hope everyone has managed to switch off for some of this weekend! Can’t say I have much lol! 😩
still, it’s only 8 more hours til bed and then we will all wake up with new hope and faith that we all get the news we need.
wishing a weekend away is awful, but at least it’s nearly Monday. We are going to give our solicitor an hour to get a coffee and perhaps reply to our 3 emails this weekend and then from 10 we will start calling!!!Wishing everyone the best of luck for this week!3 -

I've rehearsed 100 calls and have emailed my boss to let him know my focus wont be 100% at work as this is the most important thing in my life right now1 -
I’m also finding it impossible to concentrate on work. I’m WFH at the moment as our office is closed for the foreseeable and my manager is sympathetic about my ongoing stress as she has just bought a house herself so I am lucky in that sense.I’ve just booked the removal van. We are only moving 1 mile up the road into a rental and the company offers 100% refund up to 48 hours before the moving date so that is some small comfort if this all goes tits up.My buyers solicitor sent a slightly incoherent email to my solicitor on Friday referencing a Completion date of August 28th rather than June 28th (fingers crossed it was an error!). She really seems quite incompetent tbh. Oh well, let’s see how next week plays out..1
