I’m WFH at the moment as our office is closed for the foreseeable and my manager is sympathetic about my ongoing stress as she has just bought a house herself so I am lucky in that sense.I’ve just booked the removal van. We are only moving 1 mile up the road into a rental and the company offers 100% refund up to 48 hours before the moving date so that is some small comfort if this all goes tits up.My buyers solicitor sent a slightly incoherent email to my solicitor on Friday referencing a Completion date of August 28th rather than June 28th (fingers crossed it was an error!). She really seems quite incompetent tbh. Oh well, let’s see how next week plays out..0

Ah Sunday evening hope is kicking in... there will be news tomorrow. There will be news tomorrow. There will be news tomorrow.... repeated whilst banging my heels together three times 🤣1

I would find it quite amusing if my buyer was here. I haven’t seen any posts from a FTB who randomly demanded a 7k reduction a couple of weeks before Completion for no reason (yep, she’s a peach) so I guess notRe-reading her solicitor’s email she mentions she has requested funds from the buyers ISA so assuming June 28th is still on and August was a typo but honestly, who knows. At this stage and from reading some of the posts on here literally nothing would surprise me! Sending positive vibes to everyone for next week.2

Less to say we're waiting, but I was reading this to try and understand where we are at in this process (we're FTB)
Our sellers, about a week and half ago via the estate agent asked about completion, and if we could complete by the end of June. At this point, we're waiting for a quote on some works to likely have a discussion on price, there's a question about building controls, we've seen no documentation from our solicitor (he says it is all in order, nothing outstanding but we haven't so much as read a piece of paper that says 'this is the house you're buying'). Given the issues people are reporting in here, and the chances of hiccups, I am not imagining it to think the idea of completing by basically a week tomorrow is fanciful, am I?0 -
@BountyBlink everything crossed for you to be sorted tomorrow.
So glad to see @Caz_Mnaz home and dry and hopefully able to wind down over the next few days, that's quite some rollercoaster.
To everyone else hoping to cross the line in the next 10 days, wishing you all the very best of luck and the most efficient of conveyancers!
Don't think we'll make it but trying to hold out a small amount of hope. Number 3 in chain of 5, cash buyer #1, empty property #5. Having been ready for 2-3 weeks with chain below we've been waiting on an upgraded title on our purchase (our solicitor asked for it in Mid March) it was granted Tues, hurrah we're there! Um no, EA contacted Thurs to say buyer's valuation (equity loan) expires 18 June and surveyor on leave until 28 June. Really?!
Left it with buyer emailing surveyor asking to expedit as can just be desktop, have offered to help with any additional fees. Buyer also waiting for call back from Orbit to see if they'll accept original still.
Seller saying worried as hadn't budgeted for Sdlt, £9500, but it was their conveyancer who has made this so drawn out.
So cross, stressed and broken by the whole process.
Nothing more I can do except wait 🤦0 -
No doubt there will be a few of us having a sleepless night tonight and maybe the next few nights. Hang on in there everyone - there must be some good news due to us.4

Some positive news this evening. Solicitor said she sees no reason end of July completion can't be met if all goes to plan!
So have forwarded her email to my EA asking him to speak to buyer and vendor to get them on board for the date I want.
Fingers crossed!!
Buyer's mortgage application still with underwriters so stressing as had the valuation and that was all fine, just this last bit of the puzzle that's been going on for weeks!! 🙄🤨1
