The NEW waiting to exchange thread...

Some good news and frustrating stories so far this week, just another 16 hours max of the work week to exchange by close of business Friday for those wanting it this week!!!
Our buyers Sols whom are hard work, asked us the same query for the third time and asked the buyers to provide the same paperwork a second time, seems the case gets passed about a team, so different people different times crazy.
I am not optimistic for a result this week, though come next week I'd probably just sack the whole idea off and book a nice holidaythree months so far and come Monday we enter a forth.....

Thanks everyone, to think it's normally your own mother in law you get warned about, not a sellers! Boyfriend's mum has always been quite good (we've been together 15 years so I refer to her as my mum in law now).
Good luck to everyone still waiting, we still have to pay rent on the property we were at until May next year unless new tenants get found as we negotiable a lower rent for a longer period to enable us to save more. Property started being advertised at the start of this week and agent has people lined up for viewings next week so hoping it's let fast.0 -

Don't do the that, there a better ways to pass the time and deal with the frustration...we started the week optimistic and as the week has gone on it declines, and to date the buyers sols had done sum total of zero on any Friday and uncontactable so that would be a surprise if they pull it out the bag this week.
Good luck for the final part of the week0 -
Thanks folks, juniordoc you have my sympathy. I was always intending to hand my notice in when I exchanged and take the hit of the overlap. I'm a lodger and so live in a house share set up with my 'LL I was nieve and told them that I was my buying and my intentions thinking they'd be pleased about the honestly and time to find a new lodger. As it turns out they gave me notice - lesson learnt, keep my mouth shut in future! Thankfully my mate has a spare room and half my stuff is in her loft anyway so at least I won't be on the streets... keeping everything crossed that everyone waiting hears some positive news today!!0

We STILL haven't exchanged. No idea why. Our buyer's solicitor received the deposit, so everything is ready to go. It's going to be a looooong day again.Thank you to everyone who posts on here0 -
Hi All!
New poster here
My boyfriend and I are purchasing a new build flat as our first place together, completion currently anywhere from late December to February, will also be the first place either of us has bought
Had our mortgage offer confirmed and everything is in place to exchange, just waiting on our mortgage lender to send over the valuation to send to our solicitors and then fingers crossed we should exchange.
Anyone know how long it takes for your lender to send you the valuation?0 -
So we've exchanged contracts at long last! :j So relieved!
We're temporarily renting, so moving into our new home at the weekend and completing the sale on this house on Monday. It will be just under 10 weeks since we accepted the offer, so not bad goingThank you to everyone who posts on here0 -

How utterly frustrating about having to wait till the 9th not knowing if the searches been sent off or not.. Did you by any chance made a payment towards them?
Like you and I suppose everyone else at this stage we also talk morning noon and night about the house.. where we are.. what we want to do.. and on and on.. repeated and rinsed washed and repeated conversations.. We both try to switch off and concentrate on just living like normal but it just does not happen. It is no use that I have been on holidays the last two weeks with nothing to occupy my time other than refreshing my e-mails a 100 times a day or checking my phone for any missed calls. Luckily my work mates are spared the inane conversations but I am sure I will bore them all silly once I am back at work on Friday.. I drive myself up the wall..haha0 -
