I've heard nothing now for 3 weeks which is when the searches were ordered. I presume at some point someone will contact me to see if I want to exchange and pay their fees....0

We have said the same about our damp & timber survey. They will buy it still, try & re negotiate or pull out  I wish ours was tomorrow instead of another week away. Good luck for tomorrow
Jx2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
Contacted our sol, she's not had the confirmation of the date from the vendors solicitor yet and whether they will empty the property by that date (next week Friday) we're going in on Friday to sign some things saves relying on the post. Still no talk of exchange though she did mention buildings insurance. We've not had our deposit mentioned either so i dont know when that needs paying.
Our sol said shes got to request funds from our htb bonus and mortgage and I'm not sure that can be done before exchange?
We phoned the estate agent and she said our seller was emptying the property this weekend gone. So it should be done now. Theyre all ready to go i think, hopefully they'll tell their sol to get in contact to confirm0 -
Blimey Trix-a-belle - what a mad day! So glad you go there in the end. I can't imagine how stressful that must have been for you.
Well after being told by our solicitor yesterday that it looked like we would exchange and that he would call me to let me know it was done, it never happened. I'm going to call him this afternoon if I still haven't heard from him to see if he knows why it's still not gone ahead. We're due to complete on Monday so things need to get a shift on.Thank you to everyone who posts on here0 -
Thanks everyone, I have my fingers crossed for you all on your respective journeys, you will get there eventually.PS ta for the update trix-a-belle - we were all wondering!
Got there in the end!
Still unimpressed that even 2/3 weeks ago my seller was still saying they were moving to rented/in with family, why lie especially when she wants to stay in the same village & it seems will be popping round & wants to go for dinner in the pub
we limped over the line at exchange so why did I expect any different for completion- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
- Student Loan gone
Swagbucks, Mingle, GiffGaff, Prolific, Qmee & Quidco; thank you MSE every little bit helps0 -
Well mid day update as we've stopped for lunch, I got sent to the cafe earlier as I was trying to help the professional packers too much. In the end I just did the personal things I wanted to pack.
They've almost finished packing the house up now and my boyfriend has been able to collect the keys for our first home after making me promise I stay out of everyone's way and play with our cat XD
The sellers are just finishing moving out and will be finished and gone by 2. I'm waiting until 4:30 to be there with our cat so it's a bit calmer (we've done rented moves before so she's quite chilled with it all).
Still can't believe it's happening and that I'm holding myself together!0 -
Well we are now about to enter week 11 of a two person transaction (we are buying new build)
Our ea has a sales progresser that waits for people to call her and she thinks I am a nag. Due to her incompetance took 9 weeks to realise otherside had issue with mortgage. She hasn’t spoken to buyers for a week and refuses to chase or contact them in case it scares them off.
We are ready thank exchange but don’t know if other side are and if we don’t by Friday we may lose our plot.
I have found buyers on Facebook and am tempted to message them to see if they are being updated. What you guys think0 -

We have received the search information back as soon as our solicitors received it. Each time we got asked if we are happy and if we have any questions about the information given.
I am sure you should give yours a call Scotbot and ask for the information about the searches.. You are the one paying for them and it is after all done on your behalf..0 -

Good grief.. and after your shouting at them its not been done.. madness.. I hope you can get it done oand complete on Monday Upsy Staffordshire.. all fingers crossed for you0 -
I e-mailed the solicitor this morning to ask if she'd confirm receipt of the mortgage offer docs the lender said they'd sent to her.
I got an out of office saying she would be away until the 9th. I wish they'd give warnings about stuff like that. If she'd just tagged on a thing to her last email saying the searches had been sent saying "I'm going on leave, but everything is being dealt with by X and we don't expect searches back until after I return" I'd quite happily sit and wait.
Now, even though I know the searches will be at least another week or more, I feel like I've been duped, which is silly.
I know what you mean about it just taking over hazyjo, all of our discussions at home are about the house, all of my chats with family are about how the house is progressing, all I think about is how impatient I am and how long it's taking. worse, I have to walk past it daily on my way to and from work. It's like I'm slowly going insane repeating the same things over and over.0
