Natbag said:My update today. Oh wait, there isn't one. Didn't hear a peep from my solicitor yesterday. Not. A. Word. Raging.
Rang first thing this morning, got the usual 'oh, she's on the phone, we'll send her an email to tell her to call you'. As if I haven't already done that myself several times, hence why I am calling. Sigh. It's not going to bloody happen is it? Not this side of the bank holiday, not ever at this rate. It has been 10 days since we agreed the completion date now. 10 days. We should have exchanged last week and yet here we still are. Every single bit of this process has taken ten times as long as it should/could have. I. AM. DONE.0 -
Congratulations to all those that have finally managed to exchange/complete over the past week or so!
Our solicitor was on holiday last week and doesn't work Thursday's. Clearly I was too optimistic to hope that I would get an update early this week! She's normally so good at updating us.
The last of our searches were due back 11th May but our solicitor was still waiting on them when she finished before her week off on 14th May. Surely these have been received by now?!
Enquiries were raised with our vendor 3 weeks ago (they're normally pretty good at returning things as they want a quick sale) so I was also hoping to hear back on this.
I suppose it's my fault for trying to be nice to our solicitor and give her a couple of days to catch up from her time off before chasing her for an update but she's been so helpful I thought it was only fair. More fool me I guess!
As far as I'm aware, these are the only things left outstanding and once they're resolved we can start talking dates 🤞🏻 just want to get moved in now!0 -

@Natbag it's absolutely crazy you have to project manage them, but yes, they don't seem to be able to progress anything on their own. I really hope you are able to complete next week! I do find it funny that the solicitors take up the role of "conveyancer" in these processes, as in my case, your case, and most cases I've read about in this thread, they are not even able to "convey" a message to their clients!!!!
I haven't heard anything back form my solicitor yet, after I wrote her yesterday to say she should have everything she needs and to please suggest the dates I've proposed for agreement!Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:
