BountyBlink said:Update from us as our chain above last week fell apart (again) ...we have offered up some cash for the top of the chain to vacate. They are considering it as nothing on market in the area they want to buy. Keep fingers crossed guys for us. Another anxious wait has started 🤞🏻🤞🏻1

Agent just called... top of the chain won’t vacant. They are seeing 2 properties today so hopefully will see something they like. Fingers crossed0

Awwww thank you @BountyBlink and @amyr
Well it's 4pm and my solicitor hasn't called as I asked, so another day of NOTHING. If we weren't so close I would sack her, in fact, if I did sack her now we'd probably still complete sooner at this rate. Livid.0 -

We've had some good news today, all 4 in the chain are happy to complete on the 8th. Now we just need to exchange!!!!! Crossed fingers! I've had to start packing as we are away on holiday next week giving us little time. I was hesitant to as it all fell through before...but if I don't now...ill have 2 teeny humans round my ankles and be sitting rocking in corner by the 7th....😆1 -
Hi All,We exchanged today, Good God. I cant begin to tell you how stressful the whole process. I nearly went to auction, considered bridge loans, even quick house buyers lol. Good luck to all those waiting2

Evening All,
I have been reading this thread with interest as we are relatively new to the journey.
14/05/21 - Agreed to part exchange our current house for a new build. Price of ours agreed, and purchase price of new build agreed.
17/05/21 - Mortgage applied for with TSB, through broker. Valuation of new build booked for 28/05/21.
18/05/21 - Our solicitor (paid for by developer and appointed by them) emailed across initial paperwork.
19/05/21 - We returned our paperwork to solicitor via email.
20/05/21 - initial enquiries returned to our solicitor regarding our house from developer's solicitor.
24/05/21 - Full survey of our current house completed today/more enquiries responded to about our house/ draft contracts and report from our solicitor emailed across and waiting paper copies in the post.
I have been clear from the beginning the only date we can complete and move is 25/06/21, so this is our aim.
Hope we can exchange 11th June (ish) so I can get everything booked. I do have removals pencilled in as there availability is twiddling fast.
We are fortunate that our appointed solicitor is an absolute whizz, she has been in touch with info/enquiries everyday. So far she is faultless - I just hope this momentum keeps going. The developer has been really clear with her they want it complete by 25/06/21 so we are all hopefully on the same page.
Fingers crossed things stay positive,

What a difference a week makes! Last Monday we had confirmation that everyone had agreed 'June' and we were set to try and exchange by the end of May.
Today...buyers who started at 'we're really flexible and are in rented til August' are claiming they have to be out of their rental by end of June (i.e. they want to save the LTT). Sellers who were 'July unless the LTT holiday is extended then we'll be fine with June' now claim they are being generous by offering 23rd July not 31st! (They are buy a new build that won't be ready in time so have no incentive to do June).
We're stuck in the middle and totally frustrated!
Have to say though, I was getting almost instant replies from our solicitor at 6pm tonight, she does seem pretty good, although how did we go backwards from the other solicitors confirming June last week?
Here's to another stressful week for all! Hope there are some positive movements for other this week!0
