received my contract report and deeds etc yesterday, sent them back this morning! So hopefully am on track to exchange next week.
survey came back fine just two urgent things - back boiler obv needs upgrading but I am eligible for a grant to replace it with a combi and spoken to NEST to confirm. And there are two spots of rising damp but we have the guarantee and a year left on it so all easy stuff to sort!1 -
No news here. (Un) patiently waiting for our contract and other papers etc to sign. The solicitor emailed Tuesday to say as soon as available will let us know so we can pick them up - she advised last week it’d be this week. If I don’t hear by end of play today, should I chase again tomorrow?! Hate hassling them but just want to get things moving again so we can arrange a completion date! All searches back, mortgage funds ready etc!0

@justwanttomove - that sounds more positive, hope you can complete by the end of June, fingers crossed!
@caz_cardiff87 - exciting! You're at the point I was 2 months ago lol. Hope we can both exchange next week!
@FtbEmz - yep, I would, just because from experience nothing happens until you pester people close to the point of either you losing your sanity or them lol. Plus you'll need a day or so to read it all and get it signed and witnessed, which you could be doing over the weekend.

Hi everyone! My turn to join you (hopefully!)
I'm a FTB and had an offer accepted (4th time lucky) at the weekend. I was incredibly fortunate that I was the only person to view the property.1 -
@FtbEmz yes, I would have chase them already today! I'm also waiting for my solicitor to send me the contract to sign, which she already said will be sent "shortly" and so far she only sent me the mortgage deed, which took 5 days to arrive as she sent it 2nd class!!! I wrote her on Tuesday, she replied in the evening, I left her the Wednesday and this morning to act, and at lunch time I wrote her again. I don't feel sorry to pester her, in the end it's her job and she had 4 whole months to get this stuff ready, the contract should have been ready by now!Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

All set for tomorrow - simultaneous exchange and completion expected. Confirmed with my solicitor today that they have my mortgage funds and they do. She says we’re ready.I’m at the bottom of the chain, the middle are expected to receive their mortgage funds tomorrow and as far as I’m aware the top has them.So I’m frantically packing in preparation.Out of interest - does the entire chain have to complete for me to get my keys?
Or do I complete, then the vendors wait for their completion? I have images of them sat in a van waiting while I’m steadily moving things in haha. It’s been a hell of a 15 weeks to get to this point
Fingers crossed for everyone tomorrow!0 -
Day 2 big fat fail to exchange. Where's that wall to bang my head against??? Aaaargh.0
