Good luck to everyone awaiting news, hopefully it's all positive! Our solicitor has confirmed that they've completed all their checks on our SOW and gifting donors, there's nothing left to do from our side. The contract, tr1 forms, deeds, stamp duty forms etc are already signed and ready with them so we're just awaiting the final search (due 31.05) and our survey is taking place on 27.05 (everyone is super busy!). Hopefully no major issues pop up and we should be ready to move to exchange fairly quickly as we've nothing to sell and the vendors we're buying from are moving into an empty house. Fingers crossed!

Good luck @NAC2809 - hopefully you'll have the keys and will be in your new home very soon!
@FtbEmz - great news, hopefully you won't be far off exchange and completion!
@n0438 - hope you exchange today, fingers crossed for you!

My update, I sent a message to my vendor yesterday, as I said I'd keep him updated and wanted to get in there first before he messaged me wondering why we hadn't exchanged yet. He seems much more positive, and said they would be vacating the property 2 days before completion, so that will be a big help. My boyfriend's buyers have already requested to change the phone line over and have insured the house, so they are super keen!
Nothing else will happen today seeing as my solicitors is on her jollies, yet again. Really hoping to exchange early next week but I have no idea if everything is prepared and ready, or if she has agreed a date to do it with the other solicitors. Sigh. Still wondering if we will ever get there!
Keeping all my fingers crossed for you 😩🤞🏼 Iv been following your thread for a while now, and I’m so hopeful for you that it will be very soon!

@Natbag I think we're aiming for the same completion date 😁

We're just waiting, and waiting, and waiting! Everytime I get in touch with the solicitor she just says that she's waiting on things from the vendor. I do think the vendor is slow (she's going through a divorce, I think she would have stayed in the house if she could afford it and she seems to just be dragging everything out). From our perspective we could really do with moving end of june/early July at the latest because I start a new job at the start of August and we could do with getting the house a tiny bit sorted before that happens. I texted the vendor yesterday to check she'd got the message from her solicitor about ? completion end of June but not heard anything back from her or our solicitor 😣. What else can I do to speed things up? Her estate agent is purple bricks and they're useless, we're FTB so no EA on our end to chase things up for us.

You can get on to Purple Bricks post-sale support. They're still a bit useless, but you can say to them that the seller isn't responding and that you're not got the paperwork that your solicitor needs to proceed and they at least apply a little bit of pressure.

I'm also buying through PB and my vendor hasn't sent through the property information or the fittings and fixtures forms yet... I'm also trying to beat the stamp duty deadline so I feel like every day it's a case of waking up and shaking the trees to make it happen. If it doesn't, it will definitely not be because I haven't put the effort in! :)

Chasing all parties again this morning. Funds have been received and we're discussing completion dates.

Exchanging today feels like a push but we are determined to close this all down before the week ends.

Good news this morning! Our solicitor emailed first thing to say contracts and all other paperwork will ready for us to collect this afternoon so we’ll have the weekend to go through it all and return them Monday. Hoping to exchange and complete first/second week of June. We have no chain and the property we’re buying is empty so fingers crossed all goes smoothly. Here’s hoping good news for everyone.
Well done, you must be so pleased. When did you have an offer accepted on the property ? Just be interesting to compare someone else's time line to ourselves as we have a very small chain which should really be straight forward its just dragging.
  • Morning everyone! And best of luck to everyone completing or exchanging today :)
So my solicitor has replied to me this morning to let me know that they have received answers to all their enquiries and they are preparing the report for me which is 'currently with their typists', can't lie that made me chuckle! It should be with me 'shortly' - I think we all know that could be today or in two weeks - I hope to God I'm nearing, slowly losing the will to go on!

In other news (somewhat good!), I decided on the builder for my flat renovation - gotta start planning my kitchen & bathroom now, eek!

Random question - does anyone know how long it takes for accord to transfer mortgage funds to your solicitor?

That made me chuckle too! You might be using my same solicitor, as I was advised I would receive the contract to sign "shortly" about a week ago, and then again "shortly" on Tuesday, but still waiting! I chased yesterday, hopefully she replies today! I am also waiting update on the last 2 outstanding enquiries, so I feel this wait is endless! But my solicitor's typists might be particularly slow!
