  • Morning everyone! And best of luck to everyone completing or exchanging today :)
So my solicitor has replied to me this morning to let me know that they have received answers to all their enquiries and they are preparing the report for me which is 'currently with their typists', can't lie that made me chuckle! It should be with me 'shortly' - I think we all know that could be today or in two weeks - I hope to God I'm nearing, slowly losing the will to go on!

In other news (somewhat good!), I decided on the builder for my flat renovation - gotta start planning my kitchen & bathroom now, eek!

Random question - does anyone know how long it takes for accord to transfer mortgage funds to your solicitor?
Gonna eat my words, I have recieved a report a few minutes ago, 6 page word doc and 174 page pdf .. time to get reading!
  • My solicitor contacted me yesterday to say that she now has our signed contracts and her next step is to check with the rest of the chain on where they are with their paperwork so we can push towards exchange. Does anyone know how they do this, is it simply a phone call or is it an email conversation. I just want to know as an email will be a few days wait where as a phone call should be quite a quick response right? We have a 1 year old and not much time to pack and just really keen to understand if exchange is soon or in a month or so.

So my completion is set for next week.

House is in London, Purple bricks has the keys (vendor lives in Wales).

Just been notified that the PB agent wants me to pick up the keys from their home address i believe, they only live 20 mins away from my house but is this the norm for the buyer to go out to somewhere else to collect the keys?

We have just had our contract through to sign and loads of information. Our solicitor has raised 16 enquiries even before the searches come back! No real idea yet on timescales. Mortgage offer due next week, searches due back the week after. We would love to be in by July 12th but no idea if that doable. Our move is the top of a 3 move chain. Hope to see more good news for everyone soon!

We've exchanged!!!! Completion next Friday. I never, ever thought this would happen after ten months.

A huge range of emotions - excitement, sadness, nerves - now we just need to find our next home.

Hopefully I'll be back on this thread very soon..... Best of luck to everyone here, and thank you so much for the very much needed solidarity!

Perfectly normal. How did you think you were going to get the keys?

I just assumed they'll meet at the new home to hand the keys over (or at the EA office for non online EA).
    Oh well...
