So after waiting all day, I decided to drive round to the solicitors and finally have the contract and all other paperwork - 4 minutes before the solicitor closed! Lots of paperwork to read over the weekend!

We've exchanged!!!! Completion next Friday. I never, ever thought this would happen after ten months.

A huge range of emotions - excitement, sadness, nerves - now we just need to find our next home.

Hopefully I'll be back on this thread very soon..... Best of luck to everyone here, and thank you so much for the very much needed solidarity!
    Fantastic news 🎉

    We've had bad news today.
    1. We suggested a completion date of the 28th June (due to issues with our lifetime isa) was worried if anything this would be too long for our vendor, however they've come back today to say they won't be able to complete until after this but no specific date given?! No idea why this is as when we viewed she told us she was flexible as moving into rental, so why she can't agree to a completion date that's more than 5 weeks away I do not understand. I'm starting a new job in August so don't want to wait any longer than the first week of July.
    2. The searches haven't revealed any building regs for the removal of the chimney breast in the attic, so we're likely to need a structural engineer assessment and quote for works to support what seems to be an unsupported chimney stack sitting on the roof 🙈
I've had a mental week (and past 12 months) at work and both my partner and I are both exhausted. Feeling incredibly deflated and frustrated with this entire process and almost feeling like we want to give up on the whole thing, this is such an awful stressful draining process.

Yay I saw some people getting over the line!!!
No news here.... The top of the chain chasing for confirmation of June 4th but no one's pulled out as threatened. Damp survey on house at the bottom being done Monday lunchtime and we should be able to take it from there. I'm hoping we still manage to exchange early next week

My sale is ready to exchange, but my Halifax mortgage offer still with underwriters post 19 May valuation (connected with agreement to repay debt on completion).  Developers have given an extended deadline of 28/5 to exchange, which won't happen.  In theory they could pull the sale after that - I don't think that will happen as long as the mortgage offer is through by then.
