I want to email the partners a complaint but no idea where to start, and honestly don’t want the extra stress. If we’ve not completed by Thursday we can’t move until 4th may at the earliest at which point I will have pulled out anyway.crumblylancashire said:
Hope you had a nice small break.. but oh god, I'd be so crossBecksina said:Tried to switch off for most of the day but now found out nobody has heard from my solicitor since Monday despite multiple messages. I’ve also today found out that there’s no leave allowance for next month at work so from Thursday I won’t even be able to move as I’ll be working - so that’s great! At this point it’ll take a miracle to complete before Thursday considering that absolutely nothing has been achieved this week, another wasted week.
Are you all ready for go time tomorrow? So excited for you! Hope it’s a smooth day!0 -
I'd be steaming too. Did you ever ring their senior partner and moan about your solicitor? I think I'd try that next.Becksina said:Tried to switch off for most of the day but now found out nobody has heard from my solicitor since Monday despite multiple messages. I have NEWS!
We've only gone and exchanged! They admitted they'd mucked up with the certificate of title, got it sorted, funding confirmed by 2pm for tomorrow, completion done by 3:30pm and I've paid the balance. We complete on Monday. I'm praying that goes smoothly.6 -
Congratulations to those who have exchanged!
I got my formal mortgage offer through today, all enquiries answered by my seller and I've answered my buyers 24 (yes, 24!) queries.
Going to check tomorrow to see if the searches are back as I was told 3 to 4 weeks and it has been just over a month.
I don't think I've slept properly since we put the house on the market in January! I was happy to move at the end of May to fit in with half term but I don't think I can take another 8 weeks of stress!1 -
Congrats!!!3or4magpies said:I have NEWS!

I thought this would be us today as well, however the top of the chain decided they firmly want 4 weeks between exchange and complete but are yet to suggest a suitable date for either!

Thanks, it's been utterly fraught to be honest and now really tight to get everything done ready for Monday.lozenlady said:

We had an update today. Was all going well waiting for solicitor to send dates.....then BOOM email email EA saying if we don't exchange tomorrow the sellers will pull out.
Rushing around, transferring money and sorting building insurance we are all set to exchnage tomorrow. Hopefully it all goes through and we complete on 7th April. I feel sick that at this stage the seller is still saying they will pull out.1 -
I’m not sure where to look or start to be honest! And I’m so flustered that if I rang is probably just cry haha!3or4magpies said:

How can people genuinely expect things to be in place at the drop of a hat? Transferring money takes time move through banks etc.Punkcandykane said:We had an update today. I also wonder what people think they will gain by threatening to pull out at such a late stage? Surely pulling out 12 weeks through the process is counter productive if you want things to move quickly? It just puts you back to square one!0 -
To be fair it has been a long wait with our journey and we are coming upto i think Week 24, due to various delays with mortgages etc. (None from us personally). But we are now at the very end- waiting for dates from solicitor which we were discussing today. Money is sent and I pray it arrives in time tomorrow for an exchange and if not thr seller is bluffing.Wren14 said:
