I’m starting to think I’m in the slowest moving chain free purchase on record.
Offer agreed mid Feb, since then its been slow going! My solicitor is still waiting for all of the paperwork from the vendors solicitor as they only sent half of it and haven’t responded to enquiries yet.
My searches were ordered 3 weeks ago and at the time the timescale was 8 weeks, I noticed in my area it has now increased to a 13 week wait. If I need to wait another 10 weeks for search results I’ll lose my mind. I’m squashed in with family and the most frustrating thing is the house I’m buying is empty!
We seem to be having the same problem. Offer agreed on 8th Feb. I've been chasing and they said they had received nothing as of last Friday. I spoke to estate agent to get things moving and the vendors solicitor told them they were posting all documents last Friday. Spoke to my solicitor today who has said they've received some documents but still waiting a few more things. So frustrating as I just want to have a date to work towards now.

Well it's been 15 weeks since I received my memo of sale. And the property has been empty for at least 18 months!
Still just waiting for replies to enquiries

  • Completed today :) we got the call at 12:30 and our keys at 1pm, the house needed a good clean and lots of rubbish has been left behind... but we've started to strip the wallpaper (an in some cases, the plaster lol!) off.. been a manic day.  Love the house, and very happy.  Going to be a busy week off working on it, before moving in properly on Thursday.  Good luck to anyone still waiting!
    Congratulations!!!

  • Manic day yesterday.  Changed some addresses, let the neighbours know we move Monday so they don't get their cars blocked in by the lorry. Tip run. Got the packers coming today to pack us all up, but I've completely cleared the loft already and swept it and hubbys most of the way through the garage. We were fortunate to be able to have the key to the new house's garage yesterday now that we've exchanged so hubbys started to shift the garage bits over. Our seller lives in a bigger house behind our new place and so hubby met him and got the info on the place that you only find out when you move in (like how to lock the electric garage door lol).
    It's my birthday today too!
