Our house went on the market 2 weeks ago, 2 days of viewings and we had an asking price offer. Super happy, estate agents came round to put sold sign on the house the next day. We found a house we liked 4 days later and made an offer. Vendor's estate agent was asking for sales memorandum right away at 6pm when they accepted our offer, we didn't have one just yet. Started chasing with our EA to produce one, turns out buyers haven't instructed a solicitor just yet. We instructed ours the morning after the offer was accepted. Our buyers were apparently getting quotes from solicitors and still haven't picked one (this is Wednesday this week), a week after their offer got accepted. Vendor's EA kept chasing us twice a day for sales memorandum, we chased out EA to chase the buyers. On Friday morning buyers promised to send solicitors details by end of day... I got all panicking with bad feeling in my gut that something wrong is going on Friday evening. Saturday morning our EA gets an email that the buyer has pulled out, we're putting the house back on the market. I have a look at Zoopla and the house we made an offer on is also back on the market and no one has told us it's going back. Really disappointed with lack of communication as we have already instructed our solicitor. The house we have made an offer on has come on the market in December 2020 and one or more buyers have fallen through. Our house is in a hot location within half a mile of a tube station in zone 3, properties here get snapped up within days, it's in good condition. I'm quite annoyed with our EA that they haven't picked up on how slow the buyers were being, didn't notice any red flags and now we might lose the house we wanted. We lost the marketing momentum for our house as it was off the market for 10 days too. Now waiting for new viewings to start and hoping one of the people who viewed the house is still interested and doesn't decide to offer a lower offer now because of this. And that the vendors will wait for us to sort this out. We had to add a condition that the house stays on the market until the buyer instructs their solicitor now.1

We are packed. We have such a short exchange to completion gap (Thursday 3:30pm and complete tomorrow) I needed to book removals and packing. They've packed the whole house in 2.5 hours, team of 5 blokes. Super nice too. Tired as anything now, as up most of last night worrying, but might sleep tonight.
Should I email/ring the solicitor tomorrow morning to check everything's in place to complete or just wait for a call?2 -
I'd wait.... And then check in at lunchtime if no news!!
Wishing you a smooth completion and a happy new home
All I want from this coming week is a ball park date! We're moving back home as family are aging... Worst fears were realised this weekend when dad had a stroke. If the chain hadn't collapsed we'd already have moved and been just down the road rather than over an hour away. That's been pretty hard to take but it's just how it's gone! Sigh.1 -

Yes being an hour+ away makes it doubly hard.
Thanks, I don't want to annoythe solicitors, but if a gentle push is the way forward would ring them. It's a fine line I guess.

a few weeks ago...we had horrid time with buyers, who finally pulled out. the people who were buying were amazing and agreed to wait for us, and last week we found new buyers! yay! offer is a fair bit of money less, but at this point i couldn't care less! i cant relax and get excited until exchange now tho. i find the worry and stress so hard, not sure how im going to cope for further months with no sleep! really good to see other people exchanging and completing on here.1

he's been pretty lucky we think, considering the guidance all says act fast and it took the ambulance 3hrs to get to him 🤦♀️ he can't talk, but hoping therapy will help him. Poor mum just lonely as they've never spent more than one night apart since they got married 😭
