Good luck to all of you hoping to exchange and/or complete this week!!
We finally completed on Friday- we were left with a garage of stuff people were coming to pick up from Facebook over the weekend 🙄 and the estate agent still has a set of our keys! But at least it’s finally ours ❤️😂😂
Congratulations! What time did you get your keys, and where were you in the chain?

For anyone who has just exchanged- how did you send the deposit money to your solicitors- faster payment or chaps or other?

I’m trying to figure out which to use, or if it even matters.
  • I sent via CHAPS

    Morning everyone!

I’d like to think we’d hear today but I’ve been saying that every day for weeks now. I can’t believe we SHOULD have been in the new house almost a month now if this stupid audit didn’t happen. Fingers crossed everyone gets what the want this week!

We sent ours via faster payment, but there was a 25k daily limit, so we had to split across 2 days.

@Caz_Mnaz - hope your dad is doing better today, wishing him a good recovery. All I want this week is a date as well.
We got our report pack on Friday, read it, signed it and had it witnessed this weekend and going to drop it back this lunchtime. I have asked on email and now on a covering letter as well about the current situation with all parties in our chain and that I want to start discussing exchange now as we need to complete by April 29th. I don't expect a reply, as per usual so will probably end up doing my own chasing with the EAs. It just feels never ending still. :(
Property buying/selling timeline - currently into week 21
04/12/20: Both properties listed for sale
11/01/21: Offers accepted on both sales & on our joint purchase
25/01/21: Identity checks completed, solicitors instructed
27/01/21: Purchase survey & valuation complete, mortgage offer received
05/02/21: Reduction agreed on partner's sale (under-valuation) & on purchase. Mortgage offer amended
08/02/21: Buyers pack returned to solicitor - sellers packs already returned
    26/02/21: Partner's sale contract signed
    10/03/21: Purchase searches all back
    16/03/21: My sale contract signed
28/03/21: Purchase enquiries satisfied, Title Report & contracts issued, contracts signed & returned
11/05/21: Still waiting on final enquiry in the adjoining chain to be resolved. Consent to break the chain granted, instruction to move to exchange given.
17/05/21: All parties agreed to June 3rd for completion
27/05/21: Exchanged on my sale only
    28/05/21: ALL EXCHANGED!
    03/06/21: Completion
  • Apparently our buyer's enquiries are all done, contract signed and going to be handed to the solicitors in person today (so they can't mess it up!)

    Should be exchanging this week!

Enquiries received last Thursday yet the sellers still haven’t had them from their solicitor 😩😩😩 There is over 20 enquiries and it’s annoying that the whole weekend was wasted when they could have been sorting them out!
