Redeemed a £5 amazon voucher from Swagbucks, and I am currently trying to convince my brother to sign up from my referral link, thus completing my swago board and earning me the 300SB bonus for the first time!

Will post some Shoes on ebay that I got for free a couple of years ago and never worn - pretty nice ones too, so hopefully they will get us a little bit of extra cash!

Oh and a job interview at the pub later today, for a few shifts to fit around my 9-5 job... I've worked in pubs for the odd year or two here and there so I think this will be a (relatively) painless way of trying to pay off some debt!

    Onwards and upwards etc

    Good luck all

  • Morning :) boo hoo work today  I have training today and tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to. I suspect it will be of a very high standard and will be extremely useful based on interactions with the company providing it. But as always never enough time to do the things that I need to do... It doesn't start until 10 so hopefully I'll have an hour and can do one of the important things I need in to that time

    Other than that

    * check banking
    * Make madam's lunch, ys yogurt out of the freezer ;)
    * my lunch is courgette soup :D
    * water greenhouse veggies as didn't do yesterday :o
    * check weather and hang out washing if going to be ok
    * rinse bean sprouts. Think I'll be using them tomorrow :D
    * make strawberry muffins. Must do this today don't think the strawbs can hang on another day :o
    * speak to oh this morning about whether we are going to a colleagues BBQ - on the one hand I'd rather not but on the other it might make things awks for me at work :undecided
    * email db about meeting up on Sunday have found a delightful little Country Park about 30 mins away and all you have to pay is £1.50 for parking ;)
    * check banking
    * another layer of paper mache with madam tonight :D. While in town nip into the £sh0p to get some felt for features of the dog
    * might nip to the lottie with madam after work
    * actually list my photoed items tonight!
    * read book or listen to audio tape for entertainment this evening

Ok better start getting ready. Have a great day x

Morning all :hello: WFH today so hoping to get some stuff done other than work and not finish too late. Today I will:

Last of yesterday's washing back outside to finish off, another load out and hopefully can dry around showers
    Run
    Meals from stores
    Check banking, surveys and FPL
Send proof of postage to seller that says haven't received item
Quick tidy round and vacuum through
    Feed tomatoes
Maybe pop to 1kea later and get two shelves we need for wardrobe, if DH can screw them to wall today I might be able to get them filled when back on Sunday night :T
Check what needs using up before we go away tomorrow to a wedding for the weekend
Check we have enough cat food whilst away (friend is feeding)
Take some returns back and collect something for DH at the same time (that we will get reimbursed for from somebody)

Right, off to wake up snoozy household.

    Morning everyone
Well the house never got cleaned yesterday, so I'm just about to start cleaning it now.
CCL I could do with your house sorting skills!
We decided to take the new car for a spin and went shopping yesterday.......i am so over my grocery budget this month but have got some good stocks in now and goodies for DD when she goes away for her next sporting competition.it was so nice just spending time with DD and DD paid for lunch out as a treat( although secretly I think it is bec she is permanently hungry and i just happened to be there:D)
Poor DD, she was quite upset handing the other car back as she almost considers it her very first car, or the car she drove since passing her test. Still getting used to the new one parked in the drive, with the top box I keep thinking someone has parked a camper van there:rotfl::rotfl:
It's a bitty day today, DB and sis in law over this morning and a meeting this afternoon. Any other bits I can fit in will be a bonus
Right off to finish cat cleaning
Have a good day everyone x

    Afternoon all!

What do you mean by a top box, HappyKitties? Is it one of those suitcase things on top or is it just extended to make it taller? I have a Fiat Doblo which is one of the ones with the extra bit on top to make it wheelchair accessible and I fully intend turning it into the world's dinkiest camper van! I think I can use the crash mats I bought for my soft-play-business-that-never-got-off-the-ground as the mattress, I am going to try them this weekend.

I brought in some YS spinach and pine nut pasta for lunch, only reduced to 44p from 2.20 which is not as bargainous as usual but still a nice lunch for not much money :) I've already eaten my snack for today so I shall have to hope for some freebies somewhere this afternoon.

I shall decide what to do for dinner depending on what is in the YS cabinet, last night there were organic carrots so I did a roast dinner (using a pack of the YS roast chicken slices from the freezer.) I needed to buy sausages for the stuffing and the finest caramelised onion ones (today's date) were *slightly* reduced to we had two of those with it for the same price as the regular ones would have been (the other four are frozen in pairs for another time.)

It's DS's day off today so I didn't have to get up quite so early this morning to take him, the postie tried to deliver the bike lock yesterday but it's now at the sorting office waiting for collection.

I need to do a bit of a tidy this evening and also hose out the wheelie bin (again.) I'm filling a big laundry bag with sellable stuff to at least keep it in one place. With DS being off today I was at least able to leave all the doors and windows open, I hate it when the house gets really stuffy when they're closed all day.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

    Hi Frugal Friends,
Busy day & just coming to the end of my job list, so thought I'd whack a post on here. Today's money saving stuff:
*Big Budget Day. Reconciled July's budget & set August's. Have deliberately left a bit more of a cushion than this month, as I know we have bills for a few things next time....i.e Dentist, Dyson, vet bill, etc. If we stick to my budget & don't have any more large household appliances die on us, we'll be fine.
*Paid off a credit card in full. (All our petrol/travel costs go on it so we can at least get a few loyalty points for vouchers, but the card is always paid off in full every month).
*Read energy meters & uploaded to website.
*Mr f not working today so he volunteered to clean the house.....usual minimal products & washable cloths.
*He also dropped me in town & picked me up again after my charity morning, which saved £4.50 in parking.
*Meal plans for next week (this fell off yesterday's list).
    *Shopping list.
    *Watered greenhouse veg.
*Picked courgettes. French beans & tomatoes will need doing tomorrow.
    *Entered a competition & 3 prize draws.
    *Did some Onepoll surveys.
*Postie brought my latest £15 Sainsbury's giftcard - earnings from Toluna surveys. I also received the code for a £5 voucher from another survey project I'm doing at the moment. Updated my signature.
*Paid 5 x 50ps into my sealed pot. mr f has been shaking his sealed pot somewhat smugly so I'm taking that as a sign that he's been stuffing it with coins & is going to have a big smug amount on pot opening day. Grrrrr! AND the b*gger's been putting 50ps in his, in addition to his usual £2 coins, instead of swapping them with me!! (He always says he's not the competitive type. Yeah, right!
*Paid our Savings Piggies - now have sufficient in the Holiday Piggy to pay balance on our cottage holiday, so will pay for that on CC to get the voucher points, then use the cash we've saved as our grocery budget this month. Cash economy only for August's groceries. That should concentrate the mind!
*Crochet more of my knitted blanket squares together. They are tiny, so I am hoping that the finished effect will look like a brightly coloured woolly patchwork.
And that's my day. I've almost done my daily steps target too, as did a fair bit of walking in town & up to charity HQ, but have still got to pop out to postbox, so that should get me to target. My target per day is 7,000 steps as I did some research on this & it seems to be the minimum level which is beneficial to health, so I thought if I always try for 7k but more if I can do it, that's enough to help keep me healthy but not so many that I feel daunted.
    Have a nice evening all.
CCL, I'm so envious of your skip. I could almost set off up the A1 with a piece of clutter to put in it! I love having a skip. We also found a chap upside down in ours fetching out the scrap metal. Round here, if you put a washing machine at the end of your drive & scribble 'Please take' on it, it's usually gone in a day. You are really making me want to do some decluttering. Think I'll do the shed & start it soon.
    F xx
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Good evening all :hello:
I think that the £235 I've spent on hiring the skip has probably been a very wise investment. It felt like loads but it is nice to see the house looking a bit more minimal than it usually does. I have officially finished decluttering now and have rang for them to come and collect the skip. Hopefully that will be before I go to London again on Sunday. I know a couple of you have seen my pictures so you can see how completely full the skip is. I can't believe that there was that much stuff in the house, and that we still have a house full of stuff as well. I've done every room in the house and the loft as well - the only bits not done are the food cupboards - we can't put food waste in the skip. But I am actually quite proud of how hard I've worked this week and how much of a difference it has made to the look of the house. Only trouble now is that it needs a really good clean out. Still, that's what I was going to get a cleaner for. I fully intend to enjoy a couple of days now doing nothing but stuff I actually want to do like catching up with friends and crochet.
I also bought a blind for ds room and put it up so I have been a busy bunny. I still maintain I'm too old and fat for this level of activity.
The car had to have new tyres and window wipers, and brakes - so I've had to fork out over £300 for that today. Good job I did all that marking and that our mini hot tub break is booked because I wouldn't have had a holiday if I'd known a large car bill was heading my way. Never mind. I'm off to London Sunday for the final round of exam marking this season. Hopefully nowhere near as stressful as the past couple of months have been.
I have literally nothing else to report because I'm so busy with decluttering... Ah well.

    It's very cathartic having a skip, isn't it? :D

DS texted this afternoon to ask for stuffing and roast potatoes for dinner (so basically a roast but just his favourite bit.) I had everything for it so its in the oven as we speak!

They did the YS stuff early again but I still managed to get a sandwich for tomorrow and some Tex Mex dips. I'm thinking of asking to change my hours so I get there a bit earlier.

My line manager said today that they want me to just stay until further notice, they don't expect the person who is off sick back until January at least and then she only wants to do two days per week. I have said I am up for doing just three days once she comes back if they can't get funding for a whole week. I still have my fingers crossed for the other job though.

It's payday tomorrow, woohoo! I must check my accounts and start working out how much I can pay off this month.

    Have a good evening all!
