Morning everyone
Up and trying to get motivated to pick new car up today. DD emptied other car last night, but I'm just want to give it a clean through this morning.
I'm flagging this week, not running on full steam and the weather is miserable outside at the minute.
I checked and did my banking first thing. Only 2 weeks of paying for my Christmas vouchers left and the great thing is with careful budgeting I've not missed the money, well chuffed about this:T
I'm even up to date with paperwork-that just never happens:j:j
Just about to do cat cleaning.
Want to give the house a quick clean and tidy later on as DB is coming over tomorrow. Need to get my niece's birthday presents wrapped aswell to go back with them to save me on postage.
DNMS I don't know what to suggest with your moral dilemma but do like the sound of your stayvacation. Had a few of them in my time, we made scrapbooks of them aswell.
Managed to pick up some YS eggs and yogurts yesterday which DD is very happy about. Apart from cat food tins we are pretty well stocked to go into August
Have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Happy hump day everyone!
Grey and overcast here today with rain on the forecast for most of the day. Why does it always rain when the kids are off on long summer holidays?
Today's tasks:
* Pop to Lidl and buy some salmon for dinner but do main shop tomorrow
* Add 2 x £2 coins to the savings jar
* Found a collectable Mrs Twiggy Winkle 50p coin in my purse which I'll set aside
* Try and get some bits together to put up for sale on Ebay
* Need to investigate swapping energy supplier as contract runs out in August
* Complete some surveys
* Home workout later on which I didn't do yesterday
For those that are green fingered, is it worth planting veg and bits now? I was looking at getting one of those mini pop up greenhouses but not sure what I could grown? Any ideas welcome.
Thank you!0 -

Thank you!
I think seeds that are quick cropping would be best now - I've picked up quick cropping calabrese (broccoli), beetroot, turnips in the past but I bet you can get more. salad leaves, autumn/winter lettuces
Actually runner beans if you planted now you'd have them right through Sept into Oct (depending on how the weather goes!) I've just recently sown little round carrots but you'd need to get them in quick
other than that I'd go to a nursery and grab some seedlings already growing
still loads of time!

Morning all!
DS deposited to work again, he loves it but he's really grumpy in the morning, I'll be so glad when his bike lock comes and he can get there himself!
Need to put the bins out tonight for collection tomorrow morning.
I have all food stuffs at work leftover from what I bought yesterday.
I must leave work on time tonight as the YS stuff was reduced early again yesterday and I arrived just in time to see a non-regular grab two packs of grapes that would usually have my name on them!
I still need to drop off a WBB package.
I'll probably be spending money at lunchtime (again), there is a sale on at Z@ra Home and they have some beautiful glasses reduced to 1.99 each. Yesterday I bought a lamp reduced to 40 from 120. They have beautiful lace duvet covers for 20 also, I don't need one but they are indeed bargainous.
I emailed the lady that interviewed me and she replied which I'm taking as a good sign, they will be making a decision on Monday.
Hope you all are having a good day.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Morning all :coffee: :hello:
I'm a bit stiff but not as sore as I thought I'd be to be fair. Had a little bit of luck this morning - a young lad knocked on the door and asked if he could take any metal out of the skip to the scrapyard. Fine by me because it's freed up more room in the skip for more rubbish - so guess what I'm up to today
:D Please don't think that I'm becoming a clean and tidy person though because that is just never, ever going to happen to be fair.
The car is in for its service today so fingers crossed for a cheap one. Also need to bag up more rubbish and finish decluttering in the kitchen - dd has finished in her room so then all we need to do is decide whether there's enough space to do my bedroom as well.
DNMS - I would wait and see what happens re the overtime - say nothing and see what's what.
Happy new car day HK

Hi everyone

Twins, as DNMS said, quick growing things can still go in now. Carrots would be fine provided you use a variety with 'early' in the name or packet description. Early Nantes is a good variety and available everywhere, or as DNMS suggested, the little round ones whose name escapes me
Beetroot, lettuce, rocket, radishes, spinach, chard, spring onions could all go in too. Lettuce are usually better sown either early or late, as they don't like hot weather much. It was also a good suggestion to see what young plants you can get locally. Lots of brassicas (cabbage family) can be transplanted now (I have just put in some of the Tuscan black kale), and also leeks. These would provide some veg during the winter.
You can probably get already growing tomato and chilli plants reduced now (our local garden centre are selling them off with tomatoes / chillis already on
) if you want a pop up greenhouse, but the above mentioned things don't need a greenhouse, and will be fine either direct in the soil or in big pots on the patio
You might consider some herbs too

Good morning, everyone.
Not the best weather here. Feeling a bit under the weather to be honest. I can't work with a cold - I know, sounds ridiculous, but it's the law! - so crossing my fingers that I can stave it off and therefore packing in lots of fresh fruit to up my Vit C levels!
I hope everyone is well.
Today I have/will:
*check accounts and payments
*couple of items to sell on FB - one sold and paid
*pay in money
*meals from stores
*budget for next month
*update expenses
*[STRIKE]take bins out[/STRIKE] done
Have a super day all.

Got carried away with gardening chat and forgot to post my list!
It was raining heavily when I got up, but seems to have stopped for now, so minimal watering needed, at least
Other things:
HG blueberries and raspberries with cereal for breakfast
Wash down some kitchen cupboard fronts (done)
HM meals from stores, I have taken some fish out of the freezer for dinner, as we have now finished all the things I cooked up at the weekend
Go to the pound shop later and try to get some bits off the ongoing list of randoms, which would be much cheaper there than at the SM
Other than that, no spends intended - will walk for free exercise if not pouring with rain, otherwise will put the trip off till another day!
Feed veg in pots later if not raining (my neighbours already think I am bonkers even without standing out in the rain with a watering can :rotfl:)
Clean bathroom floor
Surveys - already done a few
Probably need to freeze some French beans
Check banks
Hope you are all having a good day

Thank you DawnW and Determined for your gardening tip! Really useful
I'll have a trawl around the garden centre and see what they have. I had my eye on a greenhouse from Wilkinson that was reduced which is why I was thinking I could use each year. Thanks again! x 0 -
Morning Campers,
Glad I'm NOT camping, as it's pouring with rain here. Cat has just been out for the quickest ablutions ever. He's such a wimp when it's wet. Anyway, confined to barracks so no gardening jobs today.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water.
*Put a colour on my yukky roots, using the half a kit saved from last time. I keep a spare applicator bottle so that I can just mix up half, which is fine for just roots, then every 3rd time, I use a whole box of hair colour & do the lot. Saves a few quid over the year.
*Ironing.......that's a job for this afternoon. Not too much electricity going to be used as have already sorted it & only about 5 items require ironing.
*Used free fruit collected yesterday to make 2 dozen mini-muffins & some compote for the freezer.
*Continue current knitting projects - one for a gift, the other is a real thrift project, a blanket I am making from all the odds & ends of leftover sock yarn. That's an ongoing project. At the moment, I'm crocheting around all the squares I've knitted so far with black. I'd like it ready for Winter, for the sofa.
*Make sourdough loaf - just on its first proving.
*Do meal plans for next week as mr f has just texted me to say he's off tomorrow (he's owed loads of time) & will drop me off at my charity morning & might go off to Aldi to get the bulk of our grocery shopping. If so, I'll need to write the shopping list too.
*All free leisure today - library book, catch-up TV series & update my blog.
Hope some of you somewhere across the country are seeing some sunshine today, but it's definitely not me!
Cheers,

2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0
