What small DFW things will you do this week W/C 24th July

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning peeps :hello: quick one before I get the smalls up, quickly eat breakfast and all out the door. To keep me on the straight and narrow:
Check exercise tracker works after they fixed a 'fault' remotely yesterday
Check banking, FPL surveys. Did well in surveys last night, cashed out on one for £10 and got about quarter of the way to another £10 and a few bits on others. Dawn pr0lific are good and cash seems to clock up quickly, much quicker than 1poll if you were looking for others. You don't get screened out either, only shown ones you are eleigible for. It's for academic study too, so always feel like I'm doing my bit to help someone
HM mushroom and chickpea curry to work with snacks, this will be main meal who will just have snack tonight as DH is working, push meal plan back another day
Check last of July to do tonight and check what I need to do this week, start on August to do
See if dad has twine and metal things for tomatoes - thanks for the tip foxgloves I need to build a frame or but some twine across the fence I think, one of my plats is now about 5 foot and the stake just won't hold it as the other 'limbs' are also long and heavy. If not can pop with smalls tomorrow to diy shop as WFH
Right must get on, enjoy your day. Purps.0 -

Morning everyone.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
I'm hoping for a quiet week, would be nice!!
Cat cleaning just done
Going to get ready to go out in a minute as cat supplies are needed.
Need to balance up budgets this month, I know I'm going to be well over. The DIY bits for project back bedroom will have sent my maintenance budget sky high, but nearly all DIY bits bought now and grocery budget over, but I did the big order from Asd@ when cat sachets on a special so have plenty of them in stock, enough to last me through next month easily-more than I thought so hopefully next month's grocery budget should be lower and balance out with this month.
Some paperwork to do later but some foot elevation def needed today as DD was taking part in one sports tournament yesterday and I was taking part in another-will I ever learn, but I did get specialist clearance on Friday and it's been good for helping to build up stamina and reducing pain
Currently dodging all of DD sports equipment dotted around as she didn't get back till late last night so hopefully she will get this sorted today.
Banking all checked.
Have a good day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all :hello: :coffee:
Hope you're all ok. It's grey and miserable outside and raining but I am doing ok because I am not at work today. :j
Have had a busy(ish) and not very mse morning but I have at least made a start. Up and out early for me and the kids to have our dental check up. Good news is that we're all ok and nobody needed anything much doing - just a scale and polish for me.
Then went to the butcher and stocked up on meat followed by weekly shop at Lidl. I've then gotten home and sorted another couple of bags of rubbish out ready for when the skip arrives (I tried to order yesterday but am still waiting to hear back from the company I picked). Washed dishes, sorted clean washing, another load of washing in. Made brunch for me and the kids and now am settling down to relax for a couple of hours with some crochet. Not giving up

Afternoon / evening all

Thanks for starting the thread PF
Not actually spent anything today... picked up new (to us) car this afternoon, but the money for that went out last Friday
All food from home, (I did a massive cooking session on Saturday, so still using that)
Load of washing dried on the line outside
Went to shop this morning and restocked sales unit, still a few bits to put away
Started a shopping list, probably go tomorrow
Spent ages on the phone this afternoon to car insurance company (thank goodness it was a 0800 number!) re transfers, cancellations, etc. Wanted to transfer OH's (considerable) no claims bonus to our old camper van, which we had to insure with only introductory NCB , Change of vehicle for one policy and cancellation of another. All done now, thanks LV :T We will get about £200 refunded as a result, plus some for the tax on the vehicles we have traded in, so this will probably, in total, at least pay for the tax on the new car (if you have dozed off by now you have my full sympathy :rotfl:)
Haven't managed to look for surveys yet, but will do shortly - I have joined Prolific, but have only had one survey so far. I used to be an academic researcher, so it is a brilliant idea which I only wish had been available back then!
Need to double up moneysaving efforts to get back to where we were, but no debt, thankfully - our incomes are so low that I doubt if anyone would grant us a loan in any case, or at least not at a decent interest rate
And pluck up courage to drive the new car .... or the old camper van :eek:0 -
Evening all,
A busy day working today. Lots of buying, tomorrow lots of listing and hopefully lots of selling to follow.
We had a flat tire this morning, think it's a slow puncture so now have a tyre for repair. Don't think the 300 books we took to the tip (recycle) yesterday helped.
We have had a positive result back from the PPI company today for an old egg card of DH. Hopefully it will be a good amount, knowing our luck it will probably be £1.50:D
Plodding along with the house jobs. Food plan done for the week, and another £4 in the £2 tin.
Think I will treat myself to a long hot bath and a read of my new book (new to me) passed on from my mum. I cannot imagine going into a bookshop and paying full price for a book these days. I used to do it without a second thought in the past.
Anyway enough waffle, enjoy your evening xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Dawn, I'm expecting PA to dry up for a bit during the summer break but what I've found useful in the past is to look at the completed surveys to see what time they went up and try to log in around those times. The last time I looked there seemed to be a lot going up around 4pm.
I had my interview this morning, I *think* it went okay and I would take it if she offered it to me even though the money is just two thirds of what I earn freelance. It took me 15 minutes to get there and it's in the annexe of a beautiful house with a huge garden down a private road. Piccadilly Circus looked really grimy afterwards by comparison!
DS started his job and said it went well but he's out at the moment.
I'm not feeling very well (stress/lack of sleep headache) so dinner tonight was tortilla chips with melted cheese and Tex Mex dips. If DS was in I was going to microwave some leftover spag Bol sauce from the freezer and add some chilli and top his with that but he can sort his own out when he gets in!
I *finally* got my second cheque from Z@pper and now I'm worried I've lost the first one (didn't want to make two trips to the bank)
I will have a good sort around in my handbag.Found it, was in my old purse)
I missed the YS run tonight and it looked like it was good, I passed one of the regulars as I was coming out of the station and he and his friend both had two carrier bags each
The little baby fish that inadvertently got transferred to the tank with the bigger fish (and survived!) has now started venturing out of the plants and stones it was hiding in, it's so cute! It's mother is behaving a bit strangely though and I think she may be about to lay more eggs  DS has given me permission to ask the pet shop if they want all the other babies from the other tank.
Have a good evening all

Morning
yippee no work for today and 1/2 of tomorrow (going in for 2 hours ot at 2 tomorrow) Having said that I do need to do these workbooks for the course on Thursday  (I had fully intended to do them in work time but my job is constant firefighting and never enough time...)
Anyway on to brighter thoughts! Last night oh & I managed to have have a rare date night and went out for dinner using our tesco reward vouchers :money: (oh's parents are going away this week and our vouchers ran out on 15/8 so literally realised it was last night or lose it!) our bill came to £15 for a 2 course meal and a large glass of wine each :money: much more reasonable in my opinion! :money:
today is cold! Grey and overcast
Madam wants to go to the local soft play. We have collected enough stamps for a free session but if I'm honest I can't bear being there for 2 hours! Might see if some messy crafts will distract her from wanting to go!
make hummus, bake a cake, [STRIKE]make some blackberry jam [/STRIKE](sterilise saved jars ;-) )might pickle another jar of cucumbers
[STRIKE]had courgette, pea and mint soup for lunch[/STRIKE]
thai green curry for tea (from yesterday's meal plan
)
call bank to get them to take the block off of my card online so I can get my car tax
At some point nip to the allotment and pick any produce ready
2 loads of washing. Might need to get the airers out
make a start on the workbooks
Ok that seems loads! Have a great day xDF as at 30/12/16
