I dislike shopping too, but I've got another 3 vouchers for 20% off a £40 shop which ends tomorrow. My daughter was going to have two of them, and I was hoping she'd take me as well so I could not only use the final one, but buy some heavy goods which she could bring back with me in her car.
But now she's too busy to go, and the last time I went it was difficult to find £40 worth of shopping I could manage to carry to the bus stop!
I was thinking potatoes, large packs of loo rolls, drinks etc.
I'll probably just stay in tomorrow and that will save me £32!

It was no surprise to see that many ‘Black Friday’ deals are actually not really bargains. I’m so glad to be free of all that! I’ve already done most of my Christmas shopping online. I’ll need to visit some actual shops soon but can combine that with something else. Must unsubscribe from some emails though, every other one I got yesterday was about BF deals.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Love the shopping talk. I think I avoid it as I would also just spend money I just don't have on things for Justin.
However, once a year we stay over as a Christmas treat [used to do a Santa train].With Christmas money and vouchers in hand I am tortured by the girls, in particular the eldest. I wearily enter a shop and she does so with a smile on her face and a spring in her step! I also have to buy a plastic bag with each purchase so she can relook at her hoard when we get home and dare I say take a photo of it!
Main Food/travel is paid for via Mr T vouchers. Travelodge booked when special offer on and the breakfast is free for the girls- book through cash back site as well! . Gift vouchers bought in bits throughout the year so little cash spent. It is so nice that within reason I can say yes you can have it rather than maybe/no. The eldest also uses her student discount where she can to make it go even further.
Right, I'm up. Coffee drunk. A quick 30 mins before mums taxi duties begin!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Polly!!
made me smile
I had a colly wobbly tummy day yesterday and this morning, so am feeling fragile. I do have some MK to get on with and it is all about me coming to terms with the fact that I am only catering for one. I am going to go through all the bulk dried stuff that I have and most is going next week. I have already brought some heavy loads into the kitchen but there is a lot more to do. I am a bit stuck for spaciousness in that outbuilding because I am storing all the bags of fuel for winter. Once they are used up then I am going to be methodical and that includes all those dozens of empty plastic boxes. I mean the larger `really useful` boxes. I can store a 9 litre in an 18 litre box for starters. Too early to give them away because they will be useful for moving
Having a digestive upset time, when I could not do much, has made me focus yet again0 -
I have a confession. I'm a hypocrite!
we had to buy some tops for Mr Catshark today as he had no warm tops that were not worn out. The shop was still doing "Navy Friday" and I saved 25% and was very pleased with myself. I even bought an extra one because of the discount.... I am a Black Friday follower! :rotfl:
To be fair, he still has a wardrobe of about 10 items, inc today's lapse."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
I hope you feel better soon Kittie and we are wishing you strength."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0

I met a dd in York to pay her slimming club for her as an early present and then we treated ourselves to the cinema and saw "Murder on the Orient express". The crowds were ridiculous and apart from buying a meal deal we did not brave them as everywhere was mobbed!
I went online tonight and ordered a couple of Christmas stockings for dd's boyfriends and a few other bits and bobs. Stocking will have some chocolate coins and a sugar mouse and small gift in them. We always had the tradition that Santa only left a stocking and that relatives and friends gave the gifts.
Nearly all the shopping has been done online and I also have a meat hamper ordered for Christmas which should reduce the amount of food shopping to be schlepped around."This site is addictive!"

Kittie
The diet suggested for sickness was bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Ginger ale or flat irn bru helps too.
Have you a hot water bottle as they can be very comforting."This site is addictive!"

I'm also with the company 10 years, and they've given me a joyful bouquet, a bottle of champagne, a pin with two (tiny) diamonds, a certificate to put on my wall, and I'll get a cash gift of €300 with my next payday.
I put the bouquet on the car roof, because I had my hands full, and then completely forgot about it and drove off! I even went back when I realised, but it was nowhere to be seen.

Thank you for your very kind thoughts. I am on the mend and just had a small meal of white rice and stewed apple but at 7 pm decided to go into my outbuilding and get started. Being unwell is going to be too much, on top of my ever-increasing age and dd would like my massive chrome solid shelving unit. I never thought I would manage to dismantle it but did by using a heavy rubber mallet and used props to hold the top shelf up. Very big heavy shelves and somehow I got the top one off to lighten the load, it is all on castors, edged it to outside and flat on its back, where I could bang away. It is all in my car and so are quite a few of my very large boxes
I had this flash in my head yesterday, love my allotment but it is so tiring at times. Then I am thinking that I can get all my veg from abel and cole and I can buy raspberries and blueberries and self-pick blackcurrants and gooseberries. Potentially then, I have loosened my allotment from me, like my house. I am still +/- re my allotment but at least now I can say `maybe`
Honestly it was this being under the weather thing, the sudden weakness, the energy drain. Next week I re-start KM very seriously, zillions of boxes, in which I kept foods for 50000
