:p I think a feng shui master (or mistress) would have forty-fits at mine as the bed is directly in line with the bedroom door which is directly in line with the front door. The room is so tiny that it's only a fraction bigger than the bed itself, and the only way to avoid that positioning would be to do away with the bed entirely and sleep in a cat basket up the corner. Which would be an outside wall with a concrete stair against the other side and folk lumping up and down like elephants!

Have taken a trolley load of Stuff to the chazzer with gift aid added and will look at getting some more out tomorrow. I tidied my airing cupboard a bit yestereve, it's only 24 inches wide but runs floor to ceiling with slatted shelves and is a very well-used space. I certainly don't need any more towels.

I did see The Towel Called Gary (a running gag some of you old hands might recall) and patted it fondly. Two towels not called Gary are on heavy rotation and he's curled up at the back of the shelf awaiting his turn.:rotfl:

I am wearing one of the few pairs of socks from the odd sock bag of Mum's and they fit nicely but aren't terribly thick, so I think I will concentrate them onto the heaviest rotation and finish them up.

:D I really like finishing things up, must be odd inside my bonce.

I was looking forward to finishing up a bottle of baby shampoo I use to wash my face (on doctors orders to keep my eyelashes really clean due to several eye problems), I reckon I only had 3-4 days more use in it, then my DH decided when he cleaned the bathroom last weekend, to decant some from another bottle I'd bought whilst away at the other house. So now I've got about 1/3rd bottle to use up, and nearly 2/3rds in the bottle in the cabinet.....

Is there some reason why you can't pour it back in the other bottle to ensure the original one is used up quickly?

Today I used up 2 sheets of circular labels which I've had for years but always found bothersome as they don't work with any standard templates, so I had to create one for them. However, the HM alcohols for Xmas presents are now all labelled :) Not exactly a huge volume of stuff gone :rotfl: but an annoying 'thing' has successfully been usefully used :) Oooh - and 3 x BN (still shrinkwrapped) B0dysh0p toiletries which I don't want and can't think of anyone to gift them to, so they are going into work for the Xmas fayre - am sure the tombola stall can make use of them :)

Thanks for the book recommendation Kittie! I'll look into that when I've read my current "to read" books.

    Sounds really interesting.

Warm fuzz KD. I did take my Xmas reverse advent calendars to my friend to take to homeless place she helps out at. also put in some mini cereal and sealed box of tea bags that we might never use. The Tesco half price selection box just set them off! Whilst looking for something I came across a stash of those soaps you get in hotels still in their wrappers [why do/did I hoard these, was I expecting a world soap shortage?] Anyway I took them with me and she asked what else have i got hidden away!!

I keep toying with the idea of getting another tumble dryer. I work strange hours and spread across a wide area. Sometimes I have gaps so today i put some drying in the boot to take to a launderette. In a new area today and was absolutely gobsmacked at the prices. One of them charges £5.50 for size of a Tesco reusable bag, like one of them with Trolls etc on that cost 45p. I was gobsmacked as i can do a full ikea bag for half that at my local one.

Well I'm totally bu&&ered now! My bed faces the door which is directly in line with my side and I look on to the landing at the top of the stairs. But TBH I'm happy with that cos if anyone tried creeping up the stairs I'd know ( one of our stairs creaks - great cos I always knew when the boys were home!) I'm a light sleeper.
Have done a freezer trawl and I'm defrosting some rhubarb and some quince for jams tomorrow so freeing up some space.

I think we're ok... none of our beds face the door, ours is on the door wall and although I can see in the mirror that's parallel, I can only see my feet :)

Our bed is on the same wall as the door, the small spare room is an L shape and the bed is tucked away but in the other spare room, the bed faces the door and I sleep better in there than any other place in the house.

We do have a tv in our room, mainly because DH is in bed a lot with his disabilities and he enjoys it, if I lay down and try to watch something, I’m asleep in seconds. Similarly with the radio/podcasts....I always put one on to fall asleep to as they turn my overactive brain down.

2 large sacks to the tip yesterday and some cardboard that was getting in the way in the garage. I’ve been flinging stuff on the bay of e at a rate of knots too and made a lovely amount of money for stuff that’s just not going to get used. Lots of my craft stash is being used up too as although we’re not doing Christmas gifts for parents/inlaws, I’m making them an advent calendar each with some tasty little treats in. A bit of fun for them and it’s keeping me busy.

  • we know nothing, nothing much about energy flow, chi, karma, nothing that you can put your finger on. The nearest we can get, as long as we still have intuition, is if something feels right and makes us feel calm and content

Imagine my bedroom now, one calming side light in the NE, next to the door, the door opens away from it. I put that light on and now the ambience is remarkably different, no great big black box in the SE. It was all I could do to hang on until 9.30 when I went up. I awoke briefly at 1.30 and then my last awake was after 7. I could sing and dance because something subtle worked. I never smell cooking smells upstairs but at 1.30 I could smell the fruit cake that I had taken out of the oven at 2.30. That to me means that chi is meandering upstairs

So I have a messy landing to sort today and a `gap` downstairs from where I removed the table lamp. I put a large bronze resin hare in its place but it does not feel right. That corner of that room is the wood element so a nice plant will do the trick. It will stand on a small wooden table. Metal destroys wood so the hare needs to be moved away. Now I have to find a robust plant because this area is close to the stove. My mission for today

I'm not kondoing much these days; there are still clothes on the landing that the girls have not yet tried on. I've been wondering if that means that they have enough in their wardrobes, but then, dd1 ran out of underwear and leggings because it was all in the laundry basket, so I think they are better off having plenty.

I do about two loads of laundry per week, but laundry that cannot go in the dryer, needs to be dried over the stairwell ('droogrek twe-dro' (g00gle it for an image) is permanently there) and takes about 3 days to fully dry. Secondly, I have a 7kg washing machine, which takes some time to fill up, as I only run it when full.

Sorry about the ramble, I just thought it might be useful for someone reading this to have my thought process in the open :)

I've put all the hotel body lotions I have on the bathroom basin rim, trying to persuade dh to use them up once his large bottle is finished. He told me he prefers unscented ones, but then refuses to actually sniff the small bottles :frustrated:
