*shudder* sorry but I HATE odd socks !!! Makes me feel all out of sorts if I see someone wearing non matching. Same as inside out socks, can't stand that either. :rotfl:

Otherwise I'm quite normal . I think

I consider myself fairly tolerant but I hate to see grown men wearing cartoon socks! It makes me wonder what message they think they are sending out?!

I was mightily relieved when DH sent an unworn 5-pack to CS that a relative had given him last year :)

Funny which small things just get on our nerves, eh? :rotfl:

Not anticipating any kondo-ing today, not after last week's big clothes fling! Have been using up some of craft stash and deliberating about whether to make a small purchase for future crafting. Item comes in a set, total cost £12, but I don't want the other things in the set and it's still £12 spent. Hmm, I think I have just talked myself out of it, thanks!

My biggest 'managed to resist it' this year? The M&S advent calendar. Ooh, I thought, lots of cute little things. Then my rational self regained control and i knew that i), the stuff would clutter up my home and 2), I would not use most of it. Duh, why did it even cross my mind??
Resistance is not futile my Trekkie friends, we can do it!
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Went shopping yesterday with a friend to help her with a purchase for a friend of hers who lives abroad. I am quite happy accompanying friends and not buying anything but I did spot a lovely red dress perfect for Christmas and other functions in 'my' red at a bargain price so it's now in my wardrobe. Went to yoga last night and decided that a top I wore is too annoying as it rides up too much so that will be washed, thanked and on its way. In

Oh that was just my socks small things mmf. In fact it wasn't even them all cos I hate people walking about in socks. Even in their own house! Needs to be bare feet, slippers or shoes. And don't get me started on socks outside  oh and kids who run about with socks halfway off their feet and flapping :eek:

I think I might be rather more intolerant than I had previously thought :o

Ah well, I don't say it out loud to people. Well rarely. :rotfl:

Heehee, we all have our own crazy :p but I'm happy in my own little way _party_

I have bought 4 new books. They are exciting. I really want to read them and my booksleves (vast), look a bit empty after my recent book Kondoing marathon. They spark joy now and I will keep them for as long as they continue to do so.

I feel all calm, looking around my uncluttered space. A MK jedi...;):rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry but I am currently wearing out socks by wearing them inside out. It's either that or bin them and try and find decent replacements which as many of us know, is easier said than done. The seams have gone quite stiff and rub if worn inside, outside they are fine.

Sock quality isn't what it used to be.

I have weaned my OH off cartoon socks. I'm afraid to say I was guilty of buying some in the past for him. Forgive me, I sinned, but have learned my way.

  • I used to have a colleague who wore cartoon socks with his formal suit ... he always drew attention to them. I think he felt it showed he had a lighter, amusing side. It didn't.

I cannot wear odd socks. They feel wrong. And as for inside out ...

  • I love socks, wear them all the time and have lots of pairs all neatly stashed in a drawer. No apologies from me, each to their own and I am old enough to never be bothered by what people think

Thank heavens I found something to do today. I was going to get rid of a wooden hand made standing stand with a house number on it, all hand made but the stand was sloping after obviously being pushed. It was standing in gravel and I was about to look for a number plate for my front door. Ahhh, lightbulb, I took the stand out, cleaned it, cut a bit from its base, lightly sanded and oiled it and have ordered a gold wax rub for the light coloured number, background is dark. I have re=set it, right by the house door and it looks great and is also solid. Saved a fair bit of money tbh and saved my sanity by filling the morning with positivity

Re socks Hubby now wears Marko Johns which don't have a toe seam!
    Must use my stash up!
  • Due to a sad marriage breakdown dear bro finds himself starting from scratch in a new flat with no stuff and broke.

This has given me a bit of a push on the kondo side.
There is a set of sheets I've been umming about that are a bit frayed around the edges (mostly just the pillow cases), I have others, so they are in a bag for him. They were expensive in the first place so have some life left.

I was eyeing things up last night, there is a small pot plant coming into flower, a few bits and pieces of kitchenware, there is bound to be some christmassy things he can have. I could easily pot up a herb cutting. As well as anything else I spot that might brighten things up for him.

I remember what it was like moving into a flat with a cushion and an airbed, and how much I appreciated what was handed on to me - so it is easy to pass on the favour.
