The junction description is wrong, as the road name used is wrong based on both
1) Addresses of shops on the road.
2) Placing of Street Name signs on the road.
The latter is certainly the responsibility of council.0 -
You're clutching at straws, the location is clear to any reasonable person.I understand your thinking, emotionally. But is this based on any law?
Surely the location (legally) is either correct or incorrect.
So it is just as wrong to say the offense took place 100m away as it is to say it took place in Edinburgh. Both are wrong.
The law surely can't say 'It's wrong - but it's close enough" ?
Genuine question.
At the end of the day it is your right to appeal if that's what you want to do. You asked for opinions and you've received them.0 -
As already advised you should ask at Pepipoo.
If there's a problem with the ticket they'll let you know.0 -
You're clearly certain of your position, so appeal on the technicality. Others have told you that your position is probably unreasonable and that you're clutching at straws. You clearly disagree. I think your original dilemma has been eased by the responses you've had but it looks like it was never a dilemma because you seem confident in your position that there's a technical flaw. The junction description is wrong, as the road name used is wrong based on both

To be Frank I was never in any doubt that the location was wrong. That became a bit of a sideshow.
What I had hoped was that someone with legal knowledge, or past experience, would say either:
A "Definitely appeal. This is a standard dead cert appeal. If the information on the PCN is wrong then the PCN is automatically invalid and will be thrown out pronto"
Or alternatively
B "Don't waste your time appealing on this basis. The location only acts as advisory reminder of where the offence took place. The appeal will be judged on the facts of the offence alone."
I have no idea which (A or
is more likely. And I have no confidence that anyone who answered this, had any real expertise/experience to advise me.
The Dilemma was should I raise the location appeal in the first place, if B, due to risk that this hardens the hearts of the adjudicators, when I need to appeal to good will in my subsequent appeal points.
I will try the other site mentioned.

KMB500 - Box junctions aren't there just for preventing hold ups, they are often there for safety reasons. By stopping in a box junction you can be affecting the view of drivers and pedestrians.
Lock away your car keys and stop making judgements about driving until you know a reasonable amount about driving yourself. I've been driving in rural Cumbria today nd there were quite a few occasions where there were box junctions.
I rarely come across minimum speed signs, but I still know what they are and what they mean. So when I drove through Blackwall Tunnel for the first time, I knew what they meant.0 -
I literally never have to go in a junction like that, not really sure why you keep getting at me for not knowing it.
Why?
Because, frankly, I'd rather not have to share the roads with idiots who can't comprehend the need to understand the, quite honestly, !!!!ing simple details of junctions as described in the Highway Code.0
