Only last month, you posted this:

If I allow for you perhaps turning 21 in the meantime, that means you can't have done your driving test more than four years ago at a maximum.

If at the age of 20 you can't remember a few simple rules for more than a few years, you really should seek advice from a neurologist.
My memory is terrible. If I don't do something very regularly I will forget it. I can remember absolutely nothing from when I was younger than about 13, and remember very little from before 16. My memory is absolutely rubbish.

Are you saying you never drive into a town at all ? Where did you take your test ? Personally I've never driven in London, but I've come across yellow box junctions in pretty much every town or city I've ever driven in. Things like red routes or congestion charge zones I can well believe are pretty much exclusive to London or major cities - but yellow boxes are used everywhere.
I do drive into the nearby city of Cambridge fairly regularly but at least the places I go there are no yellow boxes. Smaller towns nearby don't have them either.

Last year, he lived in Cambridge.

Cambridge, as I'm sure you're aware, (and indeed, rural Cambridgeshire, where I once lived) is a hell of a lot less 'countryside' than County Durham, where I live, in a rural area. I'm also a lot older, but I still have sufficient faculties to remember what a box junction looks like and means.

I suspect the story fits the thread content, rather than the facts.
no its not as rural as other places but what I mean is I live somewhere rural rather than urban. Most ofmy driving does not involve complicated junctions, in fact it's rare that I see a traffic light

ps...its a HUGE box , not easy to miss and its to stop idiots blocking the junction up for left and right turns

that's the right description of the junction

I agree, the location as stated in the PCN is correct. I don't think the OP has a case.

I also agree ... the "main" road changes name where it intersects with Danson Lane, therefore the PCN is correct. However there's probably other issues with the PCN ... Pepipoo will be able to spot them.

    Slight correction. :)

But you still know how a traffic light works, don't you?

You've gone from 'the countryside' to 'not as rural as other places' - basically you have no excuse for not knowing how something as common as a box-junction works, other than being too lazy to learn the HC properly.

    Hi. OP here.

I'm sorry but people are putting incorrect information on my thread.

Welling High Street becomes Parkview Road maybe 100m further up the road, so there is no such junction as "Danson lane and Parkview Road" as indicated on the ticket.

This can be confirmed by using google street view. Sorry but I am not allowed to use link.

If you look at Ving Hao - the address is 1-3 Welling High Street. There is a street sign with Welling High Street outside the restaurant. The road becomes Parkview Road after this point.

So back to my original question. Is it worth appealing due to wrong location on ticket?
The actual location of box junction is Welling High Street and Danson lane.
The PCN states location as "Welling High St/Junct w/Danson Ln and Parkview Road" (sic)

Almost certainly not. It's not like they've said you were in Edinburgh, or something. There's maybe 100yds in it.

I literally never have to go in a junction like that, not really sure why you keep getting at me for not knowing it.

I drive in that area from time to time, and I never realised that they were doing automated enforcement of Yellow Boxes outside of Central London.

The idea that big brother is spying on you in the centre of Welling as you inadvertently enter the box is somewhat scary. I shall be more careful on my trips to London.

More generally, I cannot think of a road feature where the letter of the law differs so markedly from best practice - not that that is a defence.

I understand your thinking, emotionally. But is this based on any law?

Surely the location (legally) is either correct or incorrect.

So it is just as wrong to say the offense took place 100m away as it is to say it took place in Edinburgh. Both are wrong.

The law surely can't say 'It's wrong - but it's close enough" ?

    Genuine question.
