Hello, you can't keep a good woman down !!
Thank you all so much for your kind words. I managed an out of hours appointment with the GP on Thursday evening. I was at the point of having to walk with DDs stick she had a long time ago. I explained everything, he examined my joints I told him Mum had had polywotsit (she always called it that) in her 70s, and did he think I might have it. He says it was certainly possible, although I didn't have pain in both shoulders, but I did have it everywhere else. I have steroids for 7 days, and evidently if it is polymyalgia I should feel some benefit by the third day of taking them, if not he has to look for something else. Today is my second day, and there seems to be a slight improvement, certainly in my legs, but very stiff when I wake up in the morning, so we shall see.
I did manage to go shopping with Himself this morning, and as long as I can hold on to the trolly I am not too bad. It is a bit of a devil this getting old business!!
We have a quiet weekend planned, nothing different there, today Himself will be watching the qualifying sessions for the GP tomorrow, and then the actual GP early evening tomorrow I think.
Like Lyn I would like to do some baking over the weekend, and I have a nice piece of silverside which I will put into the slow cooker, and it does produce the makings of a beautiful gravy.
New sink unit top and taps were fitted yesterday, it is all sparkly(for the time being anyway), and we have a tap which doesn't shower you from a split in the side. The next thing to have done is a wooden floor in the kitchen, but we will wait until I am feeling up to the upheavel.
SM I hope your Mum is going on OK, I know it is pointless to say don't worry, but the surgeons will have done this procedure many times, and better to be safe rather than have any rogue cells going astray.
Have a good weekend all xx0 -
Good to hear that there has been some improvement on the steroids Candlelight, will keep everything crossed that it continues and you get some relief from the pain, enjoy the new sparkly & efficient kitchen gadgets, everything else can wait x
Oh a westie puppy, that would be enough to give anyone a boost SM, how lovely for your DMgood for you on the FIL visit, at least he knows he can rely on you to see him.
On babysitting duty eh Lyn, that’s what this move has all been about isn’t it, being so close to loved ones. It was cold first thing here as well but we have lots of sunshine now and I’m hopeful that the washing will dry on the line.
It’s my DN’s 18th Birthday today and there is a family tea tomorrow to celebrate, my contribution to the feast will be savoury muffins and some brownies, I was going to try a vegan version so will have to see how that compares to my usual Nigella recipe.
Have a nice weekend and love to all x0 -
I'm glad you got to see the doc quickly Candlelight . It sounds as though he's proactive and supportive . DD has used a folding stick for many years . She doesn't use it so often now just when needed as the pressure of gripping it was affecting her wrist and she needed steroid injections to get the inflammation down . It is handy to have in the bag when out and about though .
You sound more like yourself today . You can have a restful weekend and gaze lovingly at the shiny sink! Bright blue skies and sun here today but still cold . I've got a chunky polo neck on as I try to catch up on things neglected while I was ill . The congestion in mine and dds chests finally seems to be clearing with the stronger ABs . We have been coughing round the clock for weeks and it's really draining . My sleep pattern has gone to pot so I'll be glad to get back to normal . Spending as much time in bed as the last few weeks is quire alien to me .
Isn't it lovely to be so near the pickles Lyn? No more long journeys back and forth . The boys sound lovely . Lots of happy times ahead for you all .
Hope everyone has a good day .

She'll be far too busy to read this but like all of us I'll have Chris and her loved ones in mind tomorrow as they say goodbye to their brave and lovely husband , dad and grandad .
Hope you're feeling a little better now Candlelight and Himself is ok .
Dd is covered in steroid cream at the moment . She was too ill for the Methotrexate at the end of last week and everything has flared including the Psoriasis . It's four weeks since we got hit with the worst virus ever . I'm pulling round now but she's had a perfect storm of effects .
SM I hope all is well with the family and you're getting some rest .
Thinking of you all . It's really cold here and set to get colder so take care all and stay warm as much as you can .
Much love

Thinking of dear Chris and her family as they say goodbye to their beloved man, I hope it all goes to plan and is what you wish it to be xx0

I'll also be thinking of Chris and her family today on this next stage of their journey.
Pollyanna - I do hope dd's situation improves soon. That sounds absolutely dreadful.
I'm hoping for a quiet weekend. Mum had her second op on Wednesday and is home, rather tired and sore but that's another hurdle over. The results may be back next week, we will keep ours fingers crossed however the nurse who discharged her said "don't be surprised if you have to have a third or fourth operation. It happens sometimes" . I'm sure she was just trying to be realistic but I'd rather not think that way right now.
Father in law has been clearing things out so hubby came home last night with a box of baking ingredients. Various flours, stork, dried fruit, baking powder etc. He said that no one else bakes so they were best passed to me. I'm just making a bit more each time I bake and hubby drops it off to him . My MIL did bake regularly so I'll try to make sure he doesn't miss out.
It's very cold here , below freezing forecast for the weekend. I hope that's not the case as I still have carrots in the raised beds and I'd like them to be there for another few weeks before we lift the remainder.
I also still have tomatoes in the greenhouse although the last still need to be brought inside this weekend. They can ripen on the kitchen window sill. I will be so disappointed Bayern they are done and I have to every to buying them again. The taste doesn't compare - I did wonder if I could grow them inside year round. I may have to investigate that!0 -
It's chilly here today too, we've had a few very heavy showers which take the temperature down with a sudden plummet. I've put on a third layer of clothing and am now feeling better.
Love and hugs to everyone, Chris and her family, Polly and her lovely DD, Candlelight and Mr.C, Ivyleaf for her eyes, Lainey for all the stress over the now departed horrid client and SM and her dear Mum and anyone else who is suffering in any way, blessings and light upon you all and gentle lifting of your heavy burdens and gradual return to level and contented days for you all xxx.0
