Have i killed the thread? Hopefully it's just got lost.

    BUMP!
  • No love Candlelight is on her holibobs in this glorious weather and I hope recharging her batteries. We're currently reconstructing a greenhouse but there seem to be a minimum of two different sets of instructions written on the pieces and it's proving 'interesting' I've just gone awol to make a cup of tea which is brewing as I type.

Still here Ivyleaf, clear up operation after the leak on saturday night still going ahead plus this glorious weather means maximum time spent outside. Just like Lyn I am having a quick tea break after getting back from the yard, the last of the washed winter coats are drying on the line and I’m trying to find a recipe that I had for Butternut Squash baked with spicy onions, seem to remember it was a Nigel Slater one so will have a look in a minute. Love to all x
  • Hasn't it been a good drying day? I've managed some heavy towels and jeans which only went out at 11 this morning and I've just got them in bone dry, fantastic stuff! HWK has just muttered that he's seen a prediction for 4 solid months of snow this winter, I really hope not!!!

Lyn I think that's from "James Madden of Exacta Weather", who does usually predict Snowmageddon and is bound to be right one day....
  • We'll see pet, I may just consider getting a husky!
  • Hello all,

Well we are back, but unfortunately not much of a holiday. Himself was ill the whole week, and despite my saying I thought we should come home he wouldn't hear of it. The heart failure is becoming progressively worse now, and he is just too tired to do anything. Our friends who we holiday with were surprised at his deterioration. Hey ho, what can you do?

TA I see Bob is being very well looked after in the Hospice, and the pain well controlled so that must be an enormous relief to you. Whilst he is awake make lots of memories, particularly for the children, and talk about him lots. Sending much love and hugs to you all.

SM, has the funeral taken place, if so hopefully without too much aggro?

Lyn, busy in the garden as well as the house, you have settled so quickly I am so pleased for you. I am afraid I wasn't able to re-charge my batteries, please don't think I am moaning because I know how much TA is dealing with right now, but it is such a responsibility looking after someone who is so ill. We are not going away again, I have told him, I need to be close to the hospital who know him and where the family are, not two and a half hours drive away. MOAN OVER. I hope the 2 grandpickles are well.

Polly how are you and your DD?

Lainey I see you have a painful knee, I am sorry, take things steady for a while. I am sure Lulu will forgive you.

Floss I hope you are settled in your own home.

Himself will be watching the GP early evening so hopefully that will make him happy.

    Love to all xx
  • Just a brief post to say I haven't forgotten you all:o. Things are a bit difficult here on a few counts so I'm trying hard to keep focused on specific things - I might not be posting much but I'm following you all and sending hugs.

Sorry to read that Himself was poorly on holiday Candlelight, hopefully you managed to enjoy your friends company and Norfolk looked lovely in the sunshine.

Keeping you in my thoughts SM, take care of yourself amongst it all.

I have been resting my knee today and watching a lot of golf :D its been quite cold here today so have been snuggled under the throw. I have texted the yard owner and Lu is already in her stable, enjoying a big hay net so will leave her to it for today. That is the best thing about having her on full livery, knowing that she is well looked after even if I can’t make it over.

    Love to all x
  • Candlelight my dear at least you had a change of scenery but I'm sad for both of you that your dear OH was poorly and you didn't get that break you so badly needed.

SM hang on in there love, life goes in difficult patches sometimes and all you can do is get over the difficult ground as lightly as you can. |There will be sunshine and happy times again at the end of all this, even if some days it doesn't feel like it. Hugs to all of you you're loved y'know that?

Lainey I hope your knee clears itself up PDQ, He Who Knows has been suffering mightily with his arthritic knee ever since we moved with all the up and down stairs carrying boxes and into the loft etc. He's had the opportunity to take it a little easier for the last few days and is feeling much less sore and uncomfortable but I feel that it's going to be a knee replacement in the fullness of time before he's properly comfortable again.

Zebra is loving school and taking in 'learning' like a little dry sponge, Ru is so happy with him and little Oreo is loving having mummy to himself on the days she's off but is Oh so happy to see big brother at the end of school. James and Nell and the two boys came here today and we've had such a nice time, they're nice boys and it's been a real pleasure. We've played, watched a film, talked and 7 year old taught me to decode messages he'd written bless him and I got a coded 'thank you' after he'd had the chocolate cake I made for dessert. The younger one didn't want to go home as we'd been playing with the farm and animals on the lounge floor which was lovely, happy days with family around us, it still feels like a dream xxx.
