Sorry for your loss SM xx
  • SM your MIL loved your DH very much to give him that distance and insist on your both going as you would normally do on your trip, she must also have been able to do so because she knew you would be there to look after him and keep him safe in just the same way as she had. I'm so sad for both of you that she's left so precipitously while you ARE away but it's a real compliment to you that she knew she could safely leave him in your care lovey xxx.

  • SCOTTISHMINNIE I was really saddened by your news. I hope you and your DH can manage to enjoy your time away and can think back to happier times. xxxx

  • I've just joined the library and got some 'real' book out to read. The kindle is a wonderful thing and has given me many hours of pleasure but a real physical book to hold in my hand and read is a different thing entirely!

We went to the rugby last night but it was the academy side playing and they got comprehensively beaten by a much superior Saracens youth team so we came home early, still nice to go though.

Cooler here today and just beginning to rain as I came back from the town, I love being able to go and get what I need as I need it and not have to hump great heavy bags of shopping back on the bus, I'm going to make coffee and sit and look at my books! Have a good day everyone xxx.
  • Hello all,

We have had a drop of rain here as well.

Took DD1 shopping this morning and then DGD2 and BF came for lunch and we had chilli and rice and Himself has just taken them home.

Lyn, you sound to be very settled and happy in your new home I am so happy for you.

I hope SM and her Dh are managing to have a restful time on holiday. I am sure arrangements are being made by the family and hopefully they will be home by the time everything is arranged. Sending you a hug SM.

TA, how are you my friend and your lovely husband. Have the steroids made any difference at all to his sleeping pattern, I know you said the other day that it didn't seem to have made any difference?

Polly, how are you, I have missed your words of wisdom on this very troubled thread at the moment.

I have a nail appointment tomorrow morning, and I must strip the bed as well if it looks as though the washing will dry.

    See you all soon xx

    Hey there,

It started raining just after lunch and has been a steady drizzle ever since. I did all my chores earlier and have spent the last couple of hours reading with half an eye on the test match. Capt S has not long come in from a client visit starving hungry ( promised lunch but in the end worked through) so had a bowl of soup followed by a toasted hot x bun.

Thinking of our friends with worries and cares, hope SM and her hubby are managing to relax somewhat, time for just the two of you.
Love and thoughts to the TA’s.
Hope Polly is ok and just nicely busy?

Right, time to go and get my wet pony in, have a nice evening all x
  • Good morning,

It seems we have had rain during the night and it is very overcast now, Despite this I have stripped the bed and linen is now in the WM, if the weather does cear u it will have to go into the TD, which I am loathe to do but needs must.

TA says Mr TA was very unwell over the weekend, so she called the Hospice on Monday morning and they sent a nurse out to take a sample and she arranged for a doctor to see him. Another horrible infection, but the doctor agreed to treat him at home with antibs, and no hospital admission, thank goodness. TA says this morning he is feeling a little brighter so hopefully the antibs have kicked in.

She is getting the support from the Hospice which she badly needs, and now knows she only has to phone them. She says the new bedroom chair is being well used because all visitors, both medical and family, have had to go upstairs to see him over the weekend because he was too poorly to go downstairs.

Have a good day all xx
  • Thanks for the update Candlelight, my heart goes out to both of the TAs in what is a difficult situation that's not going to go away, I wish Mr. TA could stabilise for a while and get time for both of them to draw breath and catch up on themselves xxx.
  • Hello,

The weather has brightened up so bedlinen is almost dry outside, and I have already remade the bed.

Nails have been done, just pale pink nothing elaborate.

I fancied chicken stir fry for our meal tonight so popped to Tesco for beansprouts, noodles etc, so looking forward to that.

I hope Mr TA is feeling a little better this afternoon, and it sounds to me that the staff at the Hospice are going to be a wonderful support when TA needs it. Clearly Mr TA doesn't want to go back to hospital, and who can blame him, but the help from the Hospice hopefully will enable him to stay at home. I expect TA must think her home isn't her own with all the visitors they are having, both professional and family, but it is so much better than spending all day at the hospital.

I am not sure what we are doing tomorrow, nothing planned as such, will see how we feel. xx
