Thank you for the update on TA Candlelight, it’s good to know they are ok and she is just taking a break.
Yesterday was lovely if a bit tiring, I took off a couple of times by myself to watch the showjumping as it seemed like my companions were more interested in the retail therapy than what was going on in the arena. I have never been a big one for shopping and buying things just for the sake of it so trailing in & out of numerous stands wasn’t my idea of fun I’m afraid. Takes all sorts I guess.
Quieter day today, not long back from doing a stock shop so the cupboards are full again. Will get over to see Lulu later and give her a lunge after her day off yesterday. She has got some new treats from a goodie bag I picked up from a trade stand, lucky Lu x
Thinking of Ivyleaf and love to all x0 -
Quick lunch break so bit of an update.
Thanks for the update on Mr and Mrs TA Candlelight- I hope there is some relief for them soon.
Keeping everything crossed for Ivyleaf.
MIL is back in hospital - whilst her care package on discharge included things like oxygen at home unfortunately the family were not shown how to monitor her levels or when they should increase the amount she received and she became very ill over the weekend. I had commented to hubby that I didn't think she was ready to go home without regular visits from nurses or someone with a medical background but apparently that's a "different department" who organise that and it seems that it wasn't at all coordinated. At least she is back in the most suitable place.
Mum had a real wobble over the weekend . I think that's to be expected though. My father made it crystal clear that he doesn't think I should be going away but mum is ok with it so we will go (MIL situation permitting). My sister is also going away which I think is really my fathers issue. We booked in February, she decided last month to go away now but my father feels that as the eldest I should "know better" and change my plans. Problem is that my parents have enabled anything my sister wants over the years regardless of the cost and impact to others so she had little or no consideration for other people.
Absolutely miserable here, temperatures into single digits and heavy mist. Not nice at all. Hubby's aunt gave me some Japanese anemones from her garden yesterday so I will plant then tonight when I get home. I think they will die off but hopefully return next year. She described them as hooligans which spread everywhere but with a large garden that's good for me.0 -
SM goodness me it doesn't get any better does it?
how on earth would the family know about oxygen, and surely the family should have had some backup from GP or District Nurse. She is in the right place again now, and perhaps they will set up a care package now.
With regards to your Mum I remember well I threw a wobbly and Himself didn't know what to do. Like I said to you I felt I had no control over anything that was happening and I just started crying and couldn't stop. I don't think it is unusual, but I got over it. I think it is a combination of fear and anxiety as to what the future holds and loss of control, but I am sure she will be fine.
I am sorry you have the added complication of your sister taking a holiday as well. I am the oldest of 3 girls and as far as Mum was concerned the sun shone out of youngest's **ck s*de , but when Mum died I was the only one she was speaking to. - FAMILIES.
Take care xx0 -
Ivyleaf has been in touch on another thread and all is OK thank goodness, what a stressful day for her poor love but thank goodness the result is the very best there could possibly be and she's fine!0

Thank you Lyn that is good news, now just her cataract op on Wednesday, nothing to worry about there. She will be able to see bright colours, I found blue the most vibrant.
Have a lovely day with The Pickles tomorrow Lyn, I think there might be a game of hide and seek, lots of new places to explore xx0 -
Our built in wardrobe is the best for that it has 3 sliding doors and enough room behind them for a pickle to move along as we open and close the doors. James's eldest lad did just that on Saturday and just killed his little self laughing.0

polly x
Thank you dear Polly and other friends xxx. I'm all right! The problem i'm having is unusual after menopause but apparently nothing to be concerned about :j
P.S. Just a bit of a nuisance0 -
Hello all,
Very overcast here today so didn't bother with any washing.
General housework today, and popped out for a couple of things, so nothing exciting.
I am sure Lyn must be having a lovely time with her Pickles and their pizza lunch.
Mr and Mrs TA were at the hospital yesterday, I am sure today they must be exhausted and hopefully having a well deserved rest. Mr TA had eaten Delia's leek, onion and potato soup and rumour has it he really enjoyed it. TA has to wizz it up in the blender so there are no bits.
Ivyleaf good luck tomorrow, you won't know yourself on Thursday when you can see everything.
SM I hope your Mum is a little calmer now and more accepting. Is it next week you are on holiday?
Polly only 2 appointments this week!! Are these mainly for DD, or some for you as well. Polly we do have a Dunelm and I love it, such beautiful bed linen as well. They also have a coffee shop, so presumably expect people to spend a fair bit of time in store. I don't think they are overpriced because everything seems to be of good quality. I have had quite a few things from them.
Well nothing exciting to add, take care all xx0 -
Oh yes we did thank you, those pickles were such good boys ate their lunch nicely and I'd made a big bowl of fresh fruit for pudding and they loved that too and we explored the house from top to bottom, looked in all the wardrobes, played in the lounge with the farm and the cars and Oreo can now say Oma and Opa! They left at 3.30 as Zebra gets tired earlier after his morning in school but loves it and says he has lots of friends there. We're tired but happy and having a quiet rest of the day as He Who Knows is driving back to Hampshire tomorrow to get the trailer and bring it back up here so I'll have a morning to myself which will be nice.0

You seem to be settling in very quickly Lyn. All very smooth and it doesn't sound like you have lost or misplaced anything in the move which is always a bonus!
Lovely sunny day here. I'm working from home so the washing is out although not much wind.
Mum is due back at hospital today Candlelight for her pre op (seems quite far in advance) so hopefully that may settle her mind. Sister is off today so I asked her to go with her and that will avoid us asking lots of questions which I'm sure is unsettling her too.
MIL has pneumonia. She was admitted to hospital on Sunday am and has spent re than 2 days in A&E as there was no room in a ward for her. She was finally found a bed last night just after 8. Unfortunately things got a bit nasty yesterday when one of the registrars told FIL it was obvious the care she had received from the family when she was discharged had led to her decline. FIL was diagnosed with Parkinson's earlier this year and is very quiet these days both in terms of his input to conversations and the volume of his speech however I believe he suddenly found his voice and has now made a complaint about what was said. it has alsocome to light that the post discharge care package was not activated when MIL left hospital. It may not help her but the hope is that it avoids someone else being in the same position.
We are still on plan to go away on Saturday so I'm trying to use up food - we are having "pot luck" dinners made from things in fridge and freezer this week. I give my parents anything that's left over so there won't be any real waste.
I also have a dental appointment on Friday - my dentist of 25 years retired last month and I had to find a new one. Very nice man but he seems to have a laundry list of things that need to be done so I have many visits ahead:(0
