  • Good morning.

Another beautiful morning, have been out already and bought some new cushions for the sitting room, Himself says how many cushions do we need, but I do like to change the colour now and again.

Mr and Mrs TA both had a reasonable night, albeit in single beds !!. TA had to wash their super king, which was still drying, so they slept in the beds the girls have when they come to stay, and evidently no mishaps. Mr TA won't attempt a shower today evidently, I think he likes a bed bath occasionally given to him by his lovely wife. Things sound more stable at the moment, although he still can't manage very much nourishment wise. Sending hugs and hope the visitors don't overstay their welcome.

We had some unwelcome news last night, the house next door but one had a burglary whilst the couple were out. They must be about our age and have always lived there. Evidently the burglars scaled a brick wall and took a panel out of the back door. I have just taken some flowers round for them and their son said they only got away with about £80 and a bit of gold jewellery. They thought they were still in the house when they arrived home so the police sent an officer and a dog, but no they had already gone.

I can remember when we had a burglary some years ago now, and it is such a shock to know someone has been in your house, going through all your stuff, uninvited. We were younger then and it was dreadful, but this couple are in their 70s and I know he doesn't have good health. We have gates on our entries so it has to be somebody who lives in either our road or the one at the back - little toerags.

Well I had better get on, have a good day xx
  • Good afternoon, we have now got a lovely day here after a grey and dull start and the sky engineer has been and the dish and box are talking to each other so He Who Knows has a Grand P r i x to watch which is making him a very happy boy! We have heard from the pest control man who will come and deal with our wasps nest tomorrow afternoon and that means the grandpickles can play out in the garden when they come to visit on Tuesday HOORAH! We're gradually getting sorted out, the boxes in the conservatory are almost unpacked and what remains is not priority, we have the dishwasher, fridge freezer, tumble dryer and the washing machine all up and running so I did wash this morning, tumble dryed it and got it ironed directly from the dryer, magic. Going to have a little rest this afternoon as we're both tired and a bit achey but entirely happy with the house and where it is, we are singularly blessed xxx.
  • Hello all,

A beautiful day here as well Lyn. washing out and drying, took DGD out this morning looking for cushions for her bedroom, but she didn't see any she liked. She is in the throws of decorating her room and changing bed linen, so wanted cushions to go with it.

You sound so organised Lyn, but you must be tired as well, I am so pleased you love your new home, and what fun the pickles will have on Tuesday exploring.

You have done well to have the wasps nest attended to so quickly, it will be a relief when they are no more. Himself loves the Grand Prix as well.

No news from TA this morning, I hope it is just that she was having a lie in and is busy now, and not anying worrysome with Mr TA. She seems to be such a strong lady, but I hope she is looking after herself as well.

Ivyleaf, if you are reading, wishing you all the best tomorrow, I wish I could come with you. When I went for all my tests I had Himself, 2DDs and 1 SIL. I am sure you wouldn't want that many, but I wish I could come along just to keep you company. If you have the biopsy that can be a bit noisy because of the instrument that takes the sliver of tissue, but mine didn't hurt. They will probably tell you what to expect anyway. When you feel up to it tell us how it went.

SM I hope your Mum is OK, she, I think, has had the tests that Ivyleaf is having tomorrow. Wishing you all well.

Lainey I know is out for the day, and must be having a lovely time in this weather, tired and a little foot sore when she comes home no doubt.

Polly, I know you must be exhausted after all the medical appointments this last week, but thinking f you and hope you are trying to rest.

Enjoy the rest of your day, much love xx
  • Well, we bought this whizzy electronic recliner sofa from the previous owners of this beautiful house and I sat down thinking I'd read my kindle for a while, in the fully reclined position …..and woke up at he end of the motor racing as He Who Knows brought me a cup of tea! OOOPS! mind I feel a lot less tired now so maybe it's not such a bad thing xxx.
  • Candlelight I really appreciate your updates on the TAs . I haven't been on the forum since 28th Aug so it means I don't have try to track down the latest news .
Tell Himself a girl can never have too many cushions - it's a law men aren't aware of - Do you have a dunelm near ? They used to have a wonderful range . I haven't been there for a while but it could be worth having a look online .
Horrible to read of your neighbours burglary . Once there was a code that you didn't rob your area but went elsewhere . It didn't make it right but showed a tiny moral stance . Nowadays it's open season in many ways in everyday life . Sorry you were burgled in the past , it takes away security and trust sadly .

The multi appointments are draining but all positive steps . They will become wider spaced over time and apart from dds every other week with the GP and same with her counselor will be less frequent . Thank you for keeping us in mind . x

I'm a bear of very little brain at the moment Lyn and somehow read your post as HWKs has a Grand Piano ! I think I need to lie down somewhere quiet . You sound so happy and settled already and long may it be so .

TA I'm not sure if this will be of use but when dd was waiting 8 months for urgent removal of her gall bladder while two consultants fought the head of the trust to allow them to operate organic baby food kept her fed somewhat . She had a controlled morphine drip and glucose one during all her inpatient stays over the period . She was badly jaundiced so couldn't face food . I noticed pouches of baby food in the nearby Tesco and picked up a few of the Ella's Kitchen range hoping she could face them , Though the following months in and out of hospital she lived on them and even after surgery she still ate them until she was used to the changes after gall bladder removal . They don't look pretty but they do well nutrition wise although need more than the allowance for toddlers per day . The other thing is Buildup I'm not sure what it's like nowadays but back then it was good at getting calories and vitamins in ,

I'm glad your Son , Db and SIL are being supportive . Take care of you x
Thinking of SM and Lainey . Ivyleaf remember a lot of people are wishing you well for the tests , we'll be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping for a positive outcome .

    Love polly x

  • Good morning,

Very overcast here at the moment, I have put some whites out which hopefully will dry, and have started to tidy back garden. I can only do it in short bursts, but hopefully will be able to see a difference by the end of the day.

I have heard from TA, she is taking a break from posting for a while. Things are much the same at home, Mr TA is managing to have some liquidised soup and having the odd Fortisip, but is very tired and sleeping a great deal. I have sent her our love and asked her to look after herself.

Have a good day everyone, and Ivyleaf thinking of you xx
  • Candlelight, if you should be in touch with TA please give her my love and tell her I will hold her in my heart and Mr TA too of course, include them both in my prayers and think of them often until such time as she can find the time and inclination to join us again, blessings on both of them xxx.
  • I will do Lyn, TA is taking a break like I had to if you remember.

Have just come in for a coffee, I don't know where all the weeds have come from because all my flowers died in the heat, *ods law I suppose.

Thinking of Ivyleaf I think she should be at the hospital now xx
  • good morning . It's wise of TA to take a break . She must be physically and mentally drained after the last couple of weeks . I echo Lyn all the TA family are in my thoughts and send love and strength to them all .

It's raining here this morning so no washing on the line today . A rare week of only two days and two appointments and the shopping etc . I'm having a pottering day .

Love to all whatever your doing and thanks to Candlelight for the update . I am so glad you came back to the thread , you were missed very much .

  • I'm thinking of Ivyleaf today and sending positive vibes . Sorry for the lack of capital letters and punctuation in my previous post I can't seem to wake up properly today and I've been up since 7am so no excuse really .
