    Fingers crossed Burtha :)

We have friends who's house has been on the market for a year next week, they refuse to drop the price, and constantly moan that no one is even viewing, they are on their second set of agents, and considering a third, but won't drop the price as it's what they 'need'...

When I divorced, ex demanded this, that and the other, all I asked the court for was enough for a house deposit - 15 years on, I am at the end of my mortgage have a home I love and ex is upto his bits in debt as when he gets what he wants, his wants get bigger IYSWIM
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130
  • Islandmaid, too true. What we are seeing over here is people who regard their homes as part of their pension fund. They want to sell it for the max to top up their poor pension planning. The government pension isn't great (keeps you at poverty level basically), so you need a works pension or some sort of private fund accumulated over the years. But hey, lets sell the house we bought for $75K or $300K and we are set for life.

It's weird. the same people then complain about how hard it is for their grandchildren to get into their first home. I don't live in an area where houses should be skyrocketing, unlike my parents who paid $55K for their house in Vancouver and sold it for $750K!

creeps in... Apologies for my extended absence, but I have been busy exiting my marriage  The STBEH (soon to be ex husband) has been quietly building a new relationship with his ex-fianc!e of 30 years ago since February and I found out just over 5 weeks ago.

Hey ho, I needed to shed some excess stuff - but wasn't exactly expecting the excess to be him :(

As a bonus, I have also Kondo'd 16lbs in 5 weeks, several hundred £s in court & legal fees and am getting settled in my own house with most of my own stuff around me.

Consequently, I am dipping out of MSE for the foreseeable...I have other things to do ;)

  • I've not had much time to post in the last few weeks . Not sure if you'll read Floss but sending love and strength to you . No words will make things easier but I'll remind you of the words of our poet Tony Walsh .

Some things run right through us like a stick of Blackpool rock . Courage , humour , hope .
    Sometimes it's all we've got .

As you know the poem ends Let our love shine like a beacon across the NW tonight .

I'm sending my love and I'm sure all who know you on OS wherever in the world they are will be doing the same .

Wishing you well and hope you'll be back when things are calmer .

YNWA and that's from a Man U supporter . Walk on through the wind . Walk on through the rain though your dreams be tossed and blown . Walk on , walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone .

If my son could see that ! Nobody must tell .

    Take care Love x

Hugs to burtha and hope Mr Nargle is doing ok .

    Take care all

My OH had chemo session number 4 today, so two thirds of the way through. We celebrated with a Marks and Sparks Italian
meal for 2, spaghetti carbonara, garlic bread and salad. Very nice.
